Woman held for attempted murder

A woman in her fifties was arrested and detained on Sunday night suspected of having stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach in an apartment in Fagersta in central Sweden.

The man was taken to Västerås central hospital with serious injuries, but was in stable condition by early Monday morning, according to the TT news agency.

Police were called at 8.01pm and arrived to find a man with stab wounds, although he was still conscious when he was taken to hospital.

The man's girlfriend is being held on suspicion of attempted murder with an alternative charge of attempted manslaughter.
