Bookies cash in on royal wedding
16:34 CEST+02:00
With the royal wedding less than a week away, bookmakers in Sweden are taking bets on everything from Crown Princess Victoria's honeymoon destination to the likely profession of her eventual first-born child with Daniel Westling.

Betsson is allowing punters to have a flutter on whether dark clouds will blight the big day, while Unibet is taking bets on the amount of rain expected to fall.

“There is a lot of interest in the royal wedding and it's increasing the closer we get to the actual wedding day. It started a year ago with bets on who would design the dress,” said Betsson spokesman Thomas Bertilsson.

At Ladbrokes, the majority of customers are plumping for Hawaii and Brazil as the most likely honeymoon destinations, while the odds on a post-nuptial getaway in China or Mallorca however are considerably higher. The firm is also offering odds on the estimate date of arrival of the couple's first child and the type of car in which Victoria and Daniel are most likely to leave the church.

Odds of a tempting 1001/1 are being offered on the pair's first-born child growing up to be a professional tennis player.
