On Saturday, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel thanked their many well-wishers, in a statement published on the Swedish royal family's website.

"A warm thank you for all the friendly greetings and congratulations we've received on Princess Estelle's birth. We truly appreciate your support and that so many share our joy," the new parents wrote.

In a formal ceremony on Friday, Sweden's youngest royalty was blessed and received her name, but several traditions still remain to be observed.

Roger Lundgren, royal expert and editor in chief of Kungliga Magasinet, a magazine about royalty, believes that Victoria and Daniel's daughter will be baptized in Stockholm's Slottskyrkan church in June.

He also suspects that the godparent tradition that has emerged between Swedish and foreign royal families will lead to Princess Estelle having more godparents than the four that Crown Princess Victoria and her siblings have.

In the short time since her birth at 4.26am on Thursday, Princess Estelle has quickly become a very public person.

During her first day of life, more than 2,300 news stories were published about her in Swedish press, according to market analyser Retriever.

But Swedes weren't the only ones interested in Estelle. International interest spawned some 3,300 articles worldwide.

Outside of Sweden, the biggest interest in the newborn princess was found in Germany, where nearly 800 articles were published.

First of all....congratulations on your new arrival. hope mum and baby are both healthy, and no doubt the little girl will keep you both busy.

Dont know that I would have picked that name,BUT, considering our Royals picked Eugine, and although shes not royal.....Bob Geldorph went for Peaches.... then Estella isnt that odd. Was a little surprised by her full name though.....its a bit of a mouthfull.......still if the parents are happy with it....sobeit.

Grattis till bada foraldrama, hoppas jag att hon vaxer upp till en kredit till sina foraldrar och till Sverige.

lol @ adshasta...I agree!

I was already cringing at the attention this innocent baby is getting, now even more with the name they've given her. Stackars barn!

If I was living a lifestyle where I got anything I wanted at the expense of the country's taxpayers just because an ancestor of mine was a king during a time when it was appropiate to have a king (like the middle ages), I would have a guilty conscience while there are so many struggling people out there. But nobody in this royal family gives anything for the battlers of this country. Why don't they take a look at Stockholm streets by night...at the people who live there, at the suburbs of Stockholm that are so run down, the state of the public healthcare system, the education system and the the list can go on.

I hope Estelle becomes a caring princess and looks out for the people of the entire country, not just her own selfish family. Perhaps one day she'll see that it would be much better for Sweden to be without a royal family. Though I doubt it since her parents and grandparents are not that smart. It'll probably be people power that abolishes it.

Best wishes to the parents and to the child. However, Victoria and Daniel, please, don`t forget that millons of people in other places have also the rigth to have children as healthy as Estelle and they need help for that.
17:15 February 26, 2012 by Emerentia
@acidcritic. I don't think that they will forget that. World Childhood Foundation was founded by Victoria's mother Queen Silvia, and Victoria's sister Princess Madeleine is also working for that foundation. Victoria and Daniel too started a foundation, Kronprinsessparets Bröllopsstiftelse, when they wed, and that foundation is also focused around health and children.

Please do not mention ...was founded.. started foundation.....what does it mean....they ask other ppl to give charity....

Thank you for your comment, I hope Victoria and Daniel will realize reality and at least stop taking plebs money and start real WORKI for living.
