The man had made his disappearence from the hospital ward not long after his operation had been completed on Sunday evening.

Hospital staff alerted police around 8pm on Sunday night after realizing the elderly man was no longer in his bed and had vanished off the premises.

At the time of his disappearance the man was dressed in hospital trousers, a short dark jacket, and was walking with the aid of a walking frame. His head was also cleanly shaven from the surgery.

Police searched for the man throughout the night, fine combing the central parts of Eksjö, yet despite the man's unusual looks, police still had not found the man by 5am on Monday morning, according to Sveriges Radio (SR).

At that point the officers appealed to the local community for any information on the man’s whereabouts, as they were continually unsuccesful in their search.

However, it wasn’t until 10am on Monday morning that the man finally was discovered by a passer-by near the Kaffekullen area of Eksjö. Police still have no idea as to his whereabouts overnight, according to SR.
