New smartphone app for Sweden's high flyers

Swedish airport operator Swedavia has launched a new app for all of its ten airports across the country, allowing users to keep an eye on real-time arrival and departure changes, book parking in advance, and even check in on Facebook.

The app, which is free, offers "all of Swedavia's airports in one app". Previously, apps have been separately available for the nation's two biggest airports, but now information for all ten airports is available at the user's fingertips.

"Gothenburg's Landvetter and Stockholm's Arlanda Airports are two of Sweden's most checked-in places on Facebook and now it's easy to check in directly through the app," Michael Persson Gripkow, marketing head at Swedavia, said in a statement.

"It will also be smoother for our travellers to be quickly updated about flights and the airports they're flying to and from. We want to inspire as well by showcasing our other offerings at the airports such as parking, food, and shopping."

The app boasts departures and arrivals in real time, a My flights function with information about a passenger's bookings, details of restaurants and shops, as well as paying and booking car parks at Arlanda, Landvetter, and Malmö. It also offers information for the departure times of the Arlanda Express high-speed trains.

IPhone users can download the new Swedish airport app at the App Store, while Android users can find the app at Google Play.
