A 56-year old has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a badly injured man was found in an apartment in Skåne on Sunday morning.

Despite attempts at resuscitation, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We cannot go into the details at this time. We must await the details," Skåne police press officer Nils Norling told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

He added to the TT news agency, "Right now we are working on a technical inspection and knocking on doors."

The murder scene has since been cordoned off with the police refusing to reveal the circumstances behind the victim's death.

A witness told Aftonbladet that he saw the arrested man in the stairwell with a knife in his hand and asking a neighbour to alert the police.

"This is strange as he is very well-behaved and calm," added the witness.

The 56-year old will be questioned further by police later today.
