Despite protests from a school in northern Sweden, as well as from pupils and relatives, Facebook has refused to take down a page that targets "disgusting feminists".

A page on the popular social media site entitled "All of us who hate disgusting feminists" has people's hackles up at Midgårdsskolan high school in Umeå, northern Sweden.

The page creator's attempt to be poetic (freely translated below) appears to have not swayed all its visitors, as several reported it to the Facebook administrators.

"If you are a feminist you can get some flack
But all opponents to feminists here is our tack
We know that organizing works well
To be anti does not lead to any support groundswell
We see more than four hundred fans alight
There is not obstacle to our fight
To be a feminist is a damn misstep"

Because the Facebook page, which sports a modified version of the iconic US wartime propaganda poster "We can do it", mentions the Midgårdskolan school in particular, staff reported it to the social media site.

"We received the answer that the page does not break their community rules because it doesn't target any individuals," principal Ellinor Häreskog told the Västerbottens-Kuriren local newspaper.
