Evidence Game of Thrones is set in Sweden

With Swedish Game of Thrones fans frothing at the mouth at the season four premiere, The Local revisits its list of ten reasons why the hit books and show are (probably) based in Sweden.
The obvious likeness between the mythical land of Westeros and the Swedish town of Västerås had many a Swede giggling when Game of Thrones first graced their screens. Västerås is a nice place, but is it worth getting your dragons in a twist for?

There also a Swedish royal who's quite clearly a fan, or just happens to have a beard that wouldn't look out of place north of The Wall. And while up there, let's point out a similarity between northerners in Sweden and northerners in author George R.R. Martin's fictional land.
