Police seize seven suspected people smugglers in Sweden

Seven people in Sweden have been arrested on suspicion of people smuggling.
Police arrested the group after a joint raid, together with the prosecutor and the Swedish Economic Crime Authority, on Wednesday.
They are suspected of organizing people smuggling and what the police described in a statement as aggravated bookkeeping crime.
“In our view the people smuggling has been going on since 2012,” Katarina Folestad of the international prosecutor's office in Stockholm, told the Dagens Nyheter newspaper.
She is expected to decide on Thursday whether or not to, in accordance with Swedish legal procedure, ask the district court to have the suspects remanded in custody.
The arrest took place in the Norrköping area in central Sweden. The suspects are both men and women aged around 20-50, said the police.
