A woman has died in a diving accident at the Tuna-Hästberg mine near Borlänge, central Sweden.

The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the woman was diving together with a group, and had problems with her equipment.

"The others tried as long as possible to save here, but in the end were forced to leave," police spokesperson Mats Öhman told news agency TT.

No diver with the sufficient skills was available to search for the woman at the time.

Police divers from Stockholm have been called to the area to look for her body on Monday.
