Young men with toy weapons at barbecue spark police operation in Sweden

The sight of young men waving what looked like weapons at a barbecue sparked the Swedish Police National Task Force special operations unit to be called out to Valdemarsvik south of Stockholm on Thursday. When the guns turned out to be fakes, the police were less than impressed.
The alarm was raised on Thursday night, with witnesses soon reporting that the suspected armed men were in an apartment in the area.
Significant police resources were sent to the location and discovered that the two 20-year-old brothers were brandishing "three very realistic toy weapons (two hand guns and one automatic rifle)".
"The incident ended with a strict admonishment of the unsuitability of 'playing' with realistic weapons outside as a young man," the police wrote on their website, adding that the objects were given up on the spot by the father of the boys who "broke the toys into pieces".
