Oh, so all the facts, news reports and anecdotal evidence is just a misunderstanding? The decade, or more, struggle for proper housing isn’t true... because you say so? This ... (show full quote)

So it's official. You are full of sh*t!

Fine, I'll limit it to 3km. You don't need to be looking, I'm making a point to prove you wrong but you're too chicken so it's fine.

That's the core of the problem regarding rentals in sweden. That's what infuriates me because nobody outside sweden knows that reality and then many move in to sweden thinking this is a paradise and fall into that trap.

It's not possible to compete in equal conditions when you can't even secure a place to live for more than 6 months to 1 year. Or be able to move to another city where you can find more jobs.

And if you are an immigrant with no solid net worth then how are you supposed to buy an apartment?.

Met people who bought despite they didn't know if they'd stay just to avoid the rental mess. Swedes know it. This has become a business model and the world thinks swedes are the most honest people only earth. hahahahahahha. Sure

Sweden is among the top 5 in terms of freedom of press but then you never hear the real news only the fake, prefabricated reality they sell to the world as the elite culture they think they are.

You will only hear excuses. Just imagine how they are that I had to hear that sweden is the equivalent of New York or London. LOL. What a bunch of lies.

But sweden gets away with it, suspicious don't you think?. How nobody dares to criticize them.

At present, 998,000 people are in the housing queues in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The number has increased by 70,000 in just one year, a review by SvD shows.

Housing Stockholm CEO Christer Edfeldt believes that the queue time for an apartment in Greater Stockholm - 10.4 years - is still leveling off. He also sees it as positive that the number of applicants per apartment is no longer increasing. On average, 300 people search every vacant apartment.

Maria Meyer-Martins, CEO of Boplats Göteborg, warns instead of a housing social crisis.

- The worst thing is that even the housing applicants who are completely without contracts increase quite a lot, she tells SvD.

"No doubt there is a big housing shortage"

QUOTE
According to the National Board of Health, there are today over 33,000 people living in homelessness . 3,300 of these live in Gothenburg and several of them are children.

Then it should be noted that the National Board of Health counts only homeless people with social security numbers and who are known by the Social Services. The dark figure should be considerable.

The waiting time for a rental apartment in Gothenburg is at least 1,524 days, according to recent statistics from Boplats Göteborg. Although there is likely to be some air in the housing queue, it should be extremely difficult to question the lack of housing on an evidence-based scientific basis.

Given the housing shortage, it is extremely inappropriate to further reduce the number of rents.

Primarily because the rent is needed as rent. But also because of the conversion of older relatively cheap rents.

Such as people with weak finances can afford to rent. They are not helped by new production with sometimes twice as high rent.
