Hello Everyone,

I have received a job offer from a Swedish company. Initially the offer was on Skype and later they sent an email mentioning the same details.

They would be applying for my work visa, as I am in an Asian country.

The company said that the work contract would be written and signed after my visa is approved.

Could you let me know if this is the case generally or I should ask for the contract before starting the visa process.

Thanks! smile.gif

They can sign what ever they want. But they have to give you an offer of employment form which would have most of your details of employment (which you both have to abide by during your work permit).

I would ask the employer: if they have hired sone one from outside of EU before and also if they plan to use a relocation company for work permit process. If answer to both questions is yes, then they know what they are doing.

Note that your permit has some conditions, ie salary, occupation, work conditions, insurances etc. Any thing you sign after you get permit has to equivalent or better.

Also get it in written that you can begin job within 3 months of your visa approval. There is no gurantee that you can start at the time your employer wants. They can have a predictable process if they use a certified relocation company.

Thanks hatim for your reply!

I will ask for more details as you have mentioned but from what I understood, the company itself will be doing the visa process.

I have not signed any document with them yet, only agreed to their offer via email.

Is it possible for the company to apply for my work visa without any signed contract or document?

Thanks
