Since getting home 48 hours ago, I have been a little down in the dumps.
So I am just about to treat myself to some of the goodies I brought back from the UK.

And tonight its ...

Treacle Tart.
I so know I am gonna feel ill before I get onto the second slice.
Wish me luck wink.gif

Ah,one of my favourites along with Treacle Pudding,...Jam Rolly Polly,...and Spotted Dick,... which apparently had a name change to "Spotted Richard" by Flint Council, (more polite and PC correct so they say).

All served with lashings of Birds Eye Custard.

Ahhh Jack, they saw the light and realised the error of their ways as this BBC article reports smile.gif

Turns out it was a reaction to just one person's sense of humour..

PC-ness, where will it all end!

But, in the interests of celebrating this most British of puddings, I've always wanted to know if my family was wierd in eating Spotted Dick the way we did. So, as a straw poll.. how did you eat yours?

We didn't have custard on ours, we melted butter into it and then sprinkled sugar on top.. Yummy!!!

and you, anyone?

Treacle tart is my favourite pudding the whole world. Especially when served with squirty cream. Mmmmm.

PS I had dairylea on toast for breakfast.
