I thought I would have a bash at making a gingerbread house for the first time.
I bought a pre made kit with the gingerbread. Now I need to decorate it. Any good recommendation on the icing and candy? I have not got a clue...any advice accepted! |

Once you stick it together you can really do what you want to decorate it
Mostly it's icing - you can also get the ready made coloured tubes of glasyr that you pipe out of the tubes - and them you stick your choice if sweeties and sprinkles etc - traditionally smarties, jelly rasperies (gelé hallon) and polka gris (stripy mints) - but you can do whatever you want ![]() |

Excuse a silly question but I am not bothered about eating it, I just think it smells good and looks cool. Can I glue it and use the glasyr stuff to decorate it?
I am useless with icing!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yep - thats what we do - we 'build' it and then let the kids get on and decorate. The glasyr is easy as the smally nozzle means it is like piping icing - and then you can stick the sweeties onto the icing
