Is my pain a source of amusement to you?

Of course not, it just seems there are some born with a cloud over their heads and it is recognized by others who then contribute what they can to the situation...

A long time ago I adopted the: "if you think it matters it doesn't attitude" and have no problem coping with life's unfair situations... even Trump's impending loss...try it...you'll like it!!!

I ain't a liar and if you can complain about what your like (which you can) I can insult you as much as I like (which I can) because it is a free world.

Fact is you are talking shit about people I like and a country I like. Criticising is okay but you talk shit about the people here so I defend them and insult you in return. You don't like it do you? Diddums!

I've dabbled with being nice to you, helping you and so on but you just are an ungrateful know it all wank stain. So I gave up and just decided to sink to your level.

I stopped adding to the tyre thread but you carried it on on other threads and then sniped insults. So again, I started insulting you.

You have offered me out 3 times. THREE TIMES! I have accepted and asked for an address to meet but each time you go quiet, or bottled it? Then you say you never bottle anything. Bullshit!

The threads are all there to see and how you have no respect for anything in Sweden or Swedes. How will you missus and kids feel when you get some balls and tell them what you think of Swedes?

As Corporal Jones said, they don't like it up 'em! And you don't like your own medicine! Man up! If you offer someone out and want to bottle it don't do it in writing for all to see.

Oh, let's not even get to you grassing me up to The Local admin and you have the fucking cheek to call me a grass when I have done nothing of the sort.

Cluck cluck Brummie yellow belly chicken!

Aw, so emotional. So macho too! But oh so emotional. Is your mangina, well is it...you know...that time of the month already?

I had a Dunlop tennis racquet once. Awful.

But on a serious note, why do you think we got left behind in tyre technology?

Rubber, Id guess british firms were getting it for cheap from places in the empire maybe Burma or something then technology moved on and they could probably process it through more artificial mEans , so we fell behind the rest like usual.

But that only explains part of it. Nokian are Finnish, Bridgestone are Japanese, Michelin are French, Continental are German, Goodyear are American and so on. You'd think they wouldn't have access to rubber either.

Given that 90% of Formula 1 teams and equipment are made and designed in the UK you'd think we'd be better at this.

I am not suggesting they were all clean. No sport is 100% clean. But most tricks have now been seen when it comes to avoiding selection. In the distant past when training hard myself I knew of gb track & field stars who had PhD students developing blocking chemicals to take with the performance enhancers. It was rife in the 80s, early 90s. Then if you looked at the downhill mtb circuit in the same era, barely sober, one big touring party! smile.gif

The trick is to take a masking agent to hide or cloud any positive results or that therapeutic use nonsense.

25 years ago union was amateur and clubs just paid "expenses" and handed out beer tokens for the club bar.

A friend is a sport scientist and does the analysis stuff for a few northern clubs, all the strength data, vo2, etc.. he says the change just in his time is staggering, they've gone from the lifestyle of a pie eating bricklayer to Olympic athlete.

To be honest that isn't too far off how football was in the 80s. Look at the Olympic athletes in the 80s too. They were 'amateur' with day jobs.

When I was a kid Rugby League was the professional lot and, as you say, Union was the bloke in the office.

Technically speaking all athletes are or were supposed to be amateurs in the Olympics. It's only a recent change with commercial pressure from sponsors that saw paid pros from tennis, golf etc start to compete.

Late 80's a boyfriend of my sister was competing at the commonwealth games level in Greco-Roman wrestling. He claimed that it was down to how good of a chemist you had, and that doping was as widespread as can be.

Too bad Ben Johnson didn't have better sponsors who would have had the means to hire some proper boffins!

In Lidl they (used to at least) sell svensk lagom ?gg. I remember it because I thought wow, they have even extended that bullshit to eggs now. What's next, lagom car? Just enough car to get you there, but probably not back again.

Seriously, looks like you have a non-lagom certified egg. Not quite enough of an egg to be an egg, but the Swedes will slap a hefty price on it, and sell it anyway.

Nasty. It looks like even Swedish chickens have now also lowered their expectations/capabilities to "lagom" levels.

Swedish chicken: sure, it's my job to lay eggs, but fuck you if you expect me to do it properly.

Who'd have guessed Swedish chickens are just as entitled/spoilt as their MeatHeadian overlords.

No but you clearly have absolutely zero idea how it works, all your talk about swedes not eating with each other, paying etc.. you've clear not worked or eaten out for lunch here? I'd say 99% of cafes and restaurants do it, having a main meal for lunch with work mates is exceedingly common. Fixed menu, a drink, coffee and salad are the usual stuff, 70-100kr. It's good value, fresh cooked etc.. bad places die quickly as word gets around, so it's rare to find low standards.

Anyway your heading back to the world where staff are expected to use their 20-30mins lunch to buy a stale sandwich and eat it at their desk.

You happy to pay 260kr for some shit Swedish food and talk about nothing go a head

Can you imagine if the SkoBo was the cook?

Customer: excuse me, there are maggots in the food you are serving.

SkoBo: well clearly you have caused this issue yourself by choosing to scoop up the maggots when you could have scooped "around" them. So, what's the problem? It's actually your own fault, after-all, you can't really expect a restaurang in Sweden to roll out the red-carpet for you in terms of not allowing maggots into the food you eat there.

Customer: go fuck yourself! You're an asshole!

SkoBo: well, I don't believe you in fact had any maggots on your plate since you clearly can't hold an adult conversation. In fact, I don't even believe you exist and I am probably asleep, and so you see, none of this is actually happening. At least, I hope I am asleep because I do not have the moral fibre nor the basic intelligence to understand this situation.

Right, cuz everyone knows you can't possibly get a fresh sandwich in the UK.
Drama Queen.

One of these dagens places I used to eat at had some decent dishes, basic stuff, lasagne, sometimes burgers, tacos, stews,...in short, nothing Swedish, thank god. BUT, a colleague who went there once, once, to met his woman for lunch, found actual maggots in some sauce on his plate. Took his plate, utterly disgusted, to the kitchen (they had a kind of open window overlooking the food table), the one cook took his plate, took a fork, and mashed them up, and said there were no maggots!

I never went back.

Later, this one guy I knew, asylum seeker originally but got through that, went to uni etc, his girlfriend, was one of these health inspectors for restaurangs...well, I found that out because I was telling him this story, and he then told me he would pass it on to his woman, because it was her job to sort that kind of shit out!

Now, there can of course be something wrong with food anywhere, right, but I would say it is pretty fucking odd the way the cook dealt with it. Should have immediately gone to that food table and pulled that dish, but he didn't. He let people continue eating from it.

Maybe he was one of those practical Swedes, thinking instead he was doing everyone some favour by adding extra protein for free!

Should of closed for the rest of the day and sorted out the source of the problem then have the kitchen professionally cleaned, even if it ruffled a few feathers of the owners

Just take ibuprofen. Lemsip is basically just paracetamol so take two of those with a lemon tea if you miss a hot fruit drink.

Honey, lemon, dissolvable paracetamol... then multiply the price of the basic ingredients by 10 and call it some cold remedy or other.

Even where I live has 4 sports shops to choose from. Stadium, Team Sportia, Intersport and XXL. Add to that the clothes shops that have a sport section and I'd say 15-20 shops.

So you won't be leaving Sweden before midnight? I win the bet. I knew I would.

There are probably 15 in gothenberg, but he moved the goal posts to city centre which made it 10. Do read the posts properly and keep up. The ten are sports shops, it ignores the clothing chains like kappahl which also sell sports clothes.

Everyone (including British nationals) arriving back in the UK from 04.00 Monday has to quarantine for 10 days even if they have a negative test.

Who must quarantine and how have travel corridors changed?

Even with the new testing requirements, travellers - including British nationals - must still self-isolate for 10 days on arrival.

People arriving from dozens of countries on the UK's list of travel corridors are no longer exempt from quarantine, following the decision to suspend them from 04:00 GMT on Monday.

All travellers must provide contact details and their UK address.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own quarantine rules, which differ slightly.
