Another holiday! I thought you had that this weekend. Will the buses and trains be running on 13 May?

I'm not 100% certain, but I think so.

It may be more like a Sunday service

Oh dear, that's not so good. Don't you get 2 other days at Christmas? In the UK lots of businesses close down between Christmas and New Year, with staff being made to take annual holidays to cover the days which are not 'bank holidays'. But I think the only 2 days that the shops are all shut are Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. Christmas Day and Boxing Day there are no buses or trains so it's hard luck if you don't have a car but need to go somewhere.

No - you never get extra days in Sweden if a major holiday falls on a weekend it's just too bad

Some industries may close at certain times

However there is never a complete shutdown of shops and public transport - even on Christmas Eve (the big day here) and Christmas Day local supermarkets will open for 3-4 hours and there will be a very skelaton public transport - although small shops often stay shut

And don't forget the 4-5 weeks in summer time when a lot of people take vacations. Shops are still open, but anything government wise might be slower than usual.

Yes it's usually pretty quiet from midsummer until early August
