Change Employer before first 24 Months in Sweden!

Safer move between employers

I am here in Sweden from Apr-2017 and my current WP expires on 2019. I have completed my first 1+ years in Sweden, but not yet finished my first 2 year of WP. Now (May/2018) I got a Job offer in Sweden which I can start in 3 Months(Aug/2018).

In this case how can I proceed with new Work Permit. I am planning to Resign my current Employer after one month (June/2018) so I can serve my complete 2 months notice period and get release on Aug/18.

My main concerns are:

--> There is a risk for visa rejection for any reason like insurance, Job ad, etc. In this case, how can I resign from my current Employer with out knowing the Decision? Is it possible to wait for Visa Decision and then resign from my current employer? This is the safe move right?

--> What will happen if my new Work permit got approved in one/two month and still I need to work with current employer for 1 more month until I join new Employer? Because in this case my WP will have new Employer but still I will be
continue work with old employer for 1 month.

Kindly suggest how can I switch my Employers safely with new Work permit. This help is highly appreciated.

You will apply for a new permit. In both cases of yes or no your older permit will cease.

I believe you have 3 months to start working at new job. But I am not sure if you are entitled to older job for those 3 months. Check both things with MV.

The easiest way is to apply permit right before you start your new job and then start working. Make sure the job was advertised in ams.se

Make sure you get an offer of emplyment doc filled before you resign. Also check if new employer can hire a relocation company.

You should apply for your new permit before you start working for your new employer. If you got your first permit a year ago, there are small chances that you will get rejected for the extension (unless your current employer is not doing what he has promissed in the contract). Just make sure that your new employer has everything in place and apply some time before you start working and you will be fine.

Yes, the job ad was available in Platsbanken Arbetsformedlingen (ams.se) for more than 20 days. I got the offer of the employment, myself & recruitment manager signed the contract using our respective bankids. Employment is safe and new employer ready to apply new WP as well.

Yes my first permit started just a year ago. My current employer almost did what are all promised in the offer, but pension was applied in my native country (PF), and few other insurance vendors got changed later, I am struggling to get these insurance details from my current employer.

I aware about the common 4 types of insurance issues & job ad, except these do we have any other reason for rejection?

Well thats wgat i knoe, once you apply there is no going back (unless you withdraw your application some how).

But do check with MV, may be there is some way to keep your old permit if the new one does not come through.

Have you asked your "new" employer for guidance in this matter???

Thanks for your suggestion!

I went to MV for two times and asked two different officers in the information section. But no one know how it works and they are providing very high level information which I already know and very basic, it seems they don't have much idea about this.

I will try to find any immigration attorney to get clear idea.

Yes!
My new employer assigned a POC for the WP process, as per his statement, I can continue my current employment until my new work permit start date in case my new WP got approved in short time.

But he didn't provided information about rejection, instead he is saying me like positive that there are very less chances for rejection.

If your current permit is restricted to employer+occupation, or expired, when you start working then the new employer should, by Migrationsverket, be reported to the police for having a worker
that does not have a valid work permit. Whether the police choose to take it further is up to them, that does not take away from the fact that the employer would be breaking the law.

Not an issue, it is allowed in law. However, you might be asked to provide evidence that the pension contribution amount (it could even be just additional income on your salary, in the instance where you dont want company pension and choose to make your own contributions to a private scheme) is equivalent to the collective agreement expected amount.

Hi guys, I would highly appreciate if you can help me in this case.
I am about to change my employer in the first 24 months of my work permit. My new contract with the new employer will be started only one month before my current work permit is ended. Now, I have two questions:
-- What process my current/parent company should go through? like canceling my insurances, etc

-- If my new company applies for me only 30 days before expiration of the last one, will I get the extension and change of employer decisions together(assuming all the necessary documents are completed )? OR, first, like 30 before expiration, I should apply for change of employer and then
, like one week before expiration, applying for extension?

Thanks!

@ arashPix - changing employer before first 24 months requires you to apply for a new permit, not extension.
https://www.migrationsverket.se/English/Pri...nging-jobs.html
Thus you can submit the application as soon as the employment agreement signed and the new employer can initiate the application. No need to wait until before 30 days before current permit expires.

Your current employer just have to cancel the insurance as of your last working day, i.e. the last day of insurance coverage has to be in-line with the employment certificate and payslip.
