The Local _ Norrland _ Team Umeå drinks meetups

Posted by: Kaylo 13.Apr.2008, 10:39 AM

Anybody up for April Team Umeå meet-up?
Evening drinks or weekend fika?
(Wednesday evenings currently best weeknight for me but could be flexible if other days suit others better.)

*Black mark against Griff's name for the no-show last time...

Posted by: roch 13.Apr.2008, 10:59 AM

hej hej... wed night is good, not this week though if thats ok...

(making pita bread at the moment for the first time.. hoping its going to turn out ok!) biggrin.gif

Posted by: jim747 13.Apr.2008, 11:12 AM

Any night is ok for me, i'm supposed to have my SFI class on wednesdays, but seeing as ive only made it to 2 so far this year, they won't miss me i'm sure!

Posted by: Kaylo 13.Apr.2008, 11:22 AM

Wouldn't want to be responsible for keeping you away from SFI Jimmy! Would it be possible to coordinate times so you only have one trip in to town (Wed 23rd)?
Otherwise I could swap things around to do Tues 22 or Thurs 24th?

Posted by: Streja 13.Apr.2008, 11:25 AM

What a meetup...only three peeps in Umeå...what are you going to drink? Reindeer blood?

Posted by: Kaylo 13.Apr.2008, 11:29 AM

I think our per capita participation rate is higher than Sthlm or Gbg
You're welcome to come for a visit to boost the numbers!

Posted by: Streja 13.Apr.2008, 11:33 AM

Would be happy too whenever I am in Umeå!

Posted by: roch 13.Apr.2008, 11:40 AM

WOW..for a second I thought you have decided to come and join the sane and friendly chilled out group up here!!! hehe

Of course you are most welcome anytime biggrin.gif

Posted by: Streja 13.Apr.2008, 11:46 AM

I'm too far away! sad.gif

I've never been to Umeå.

Ahem... grovling apologies for not being there last time - hope you can forgive me! I'd love to meet up in April, any evening and most Saturdays are good for me, just let me know when and where... I promise to turn up this time!

Isn't it great that the snow has decided to put in a reappeance! smile.gif

Posted by: jim747 13.Apr.2008, 06:47 PM

Phucking tell me about it!

Back from a trip into town for the football, Umeå IK v Hammarby IF DFF. (Womens Footie, that's entertainment)

It was fecking freezing! Just had my dinner and I think i'm starting to thaw out.

Still, Umeå humped them 6-0 so that put a wee smile on my face. smile.gif

Honestly, I ain't going to start crying because iv'e missed another SFI class, I can make it into town anytime, Griff says he is ok (this time!) so i'll leave it up to Roch to see what suits. hopefully she will be dragging M along by the ears as well. laugh.gif

hi ho hi ho its off to class I go...(sigh...)

Posted by: Kaylo 14.Apr.2008, 08:39 AM

No that we're creatures of habit or anything... but it looks like Thursday night (24th) might work for everyone - at Lotta's again? Maybe 7pm?

Jim did you go the UEFA women's cup game last weekend?

Posted by: jim747 14.Apr.2008, 09:53 AM

Ok, Thursday at Lottas, 7pm it is.

Yep I was at that game too, and it was cold, but yesterday was colder and the snow didn't help.

I was on the UIK Fans website looking at photo's from the Lyon game and spotted myself in the crowd haha! Top left hand corner, sitting on my tod, Brown jacket and light blue jeans, and fecking freezin!

Posted by: Damian 14.Apr.2008, 05:31 PM

hallo team umeå

i don't live so far away, and if nobody minded i wouldn't mind popping along as i'm in town on thursday next week.

just don't know where lottas is ..

Posted by: Kaylo 14.Apr.2008, 05:36 PM

Of course, the more the merrier!
Lotta's is a little pub opposite the library in the middle of town (Nygatan 22)

Posted by: roch 14.Apr.2008, 05:38 PM

hej cool the more the merrier... hope this link works.. its a map.. Its right in the centre of town.. across out the back from the library...
Its not this thursday but next... i think...,+90327+Ume%C3%A5&geocode=6905720161225717326,63.827715,20.263607&ll=63.827715,20.263607&iwstate1=dir:to&iwloc=A&f=d biggrin.gif

Posted by: Damian 14.Apr.2008, 05:44 PM

hi, okay. thanks for the link, it will be needed if i can make it in.

maybe see you next thursday ..

Posted by: Kaylo 14.Apr.2008, 05:45 PM

Yes, Thursday 24th, 7pm.
As for identifying us. I'm ... ummmm ... let's say not very tall, and I've got red hair. Probably with beer in hand!

Posted by: jim747 14.Apr.2008, 06:14 PM

Cool, another person to sit round the table!

My mug looks a bit like this I say a bit, because the photo was taken nearly 2 years ago.

Posted by: Damian 14.Apr.2008, 08:00 PM

ok. well i've just found a bus that can take me home which means i'll be able to have a beer, which makes the decision about coming that much easier.

jom. think of that win at about 7pm and i'll be looking for the scot (presuming you're scottish) with a beaming smile

Posted by: Griffaluba 14.Apr.2008, 10:35 PM

Thursday 24th 7pm, Lottas... I'll be there - even if I have to drink water all evening (paycheck comes the 25th). See you there!

Posted by: Kaylo 21.Apr.2008, 11:44 AM

Greetings Umeå (and nearby) folks
Looking forward to a catching up over a quiet drink on Thursday.
Apropo Thursday, Roch -
I have that pack of spring roll pastry in the freezer at home intended for you. Will I bring it with me Thursday evening? Slightly worried about it thawing out.

Posted by: roch 21.Apr.2008, 11:50 AM

its ok if it thaws out... will use some and then chuck it back in the freezer! no worries! biggrin.gif
thanks heaps!!!

Posted by: Kaylo 22.Apr.2008, 07:17 AM

Alrighty then.
I'm looking forward to catching up with y'all - feeling a long way from home this week...

Posted by: jim747 22.Apr.2008, 08:17 AM

Only a couple more days to wait K.

Then we can all get round the table and do some serious bitchin and laughing!!

Posted by: Griffaluba 22.Apr.2008, 03:30 PM

Yippee! I won't be drinking only water(thankfully) as I'm now a little more well of than I had been, so I'm looking forward to Thursday.

See you all there!

Posted by: Damian 24.Apr.2008, 09:18 AM

not that i know anyone here but thought it polite, as i said i was coming tonight, to let you know that i wont be

basically as an englishman, the prospect of going for a beer in a pub is a very nice one, however as i live 7 miles away from umeå, it is proving difficult getting home.

so, instead, i'll not be trying to get home from robertsfors and instead i'll sit at home and watch a dvd instead

hope you all have a nice evening

Posted by: Kaylo 24.Apr.2008, 09:20 AM

Party pooper.

Maybe some other time?

Posted by: Damian 24.Apr.2008, 09:23 AM

any time if it was earlier in the day

Posted by: Kaylo 24.Apr.2008, 09:26 AM

Okay. Will bear that in mind - we've had a couple of these on a semi-regular basis, so maybe can aim for a different time next month.

Posted by: jim747 24.Apr.2008, 09:43 AM

And I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere! Only been to Robertsfors once, about 4 years ago, we were picking up Elin's boyfriend in the middle of town and did some shopping at ICA and then had to visit the Systembolaget for drinkies as it was for the New Year.

Posted by: Damian 24.Apr.2008, 09:47 AM

and i'm a further 25km away ..

I quite literally define 'living in the middle of nowhere' but it's all good

Posted by: jim747 24.Apr.2008, 09:49 AM

Elin's boyfriend is in the same boat as you, he is from Kollabora, probably spelled wrong, but it is roughly 25-30kms further too.

Posted by: Damian 24.Apr.2008, 09:58 AM

hi jim

no idea who Elin is .. but if you can do the whole drinks thing at an earlier time next time .. maybe make a day of it and start at lunch, i'll b ehaving an english BBQ in teh summer .. and i'll let you spend an hour in the car to come have a look at my lake ..

sometimes do wish we lived a little closer to town though

Posted by: jim747 24.Apr.2008, 10:06 AM

Elin is my mates daughter.

Yeh an earlier meet next time would be a good idea, will depend on work commitments but i'll definatly see what I can do.

Posted by: Damian 24.Apr.2008, 10:15 AM

hi jim

earlier would be better. or a saturday.

a saturday watching the football at o'learys even better ..

Posted by: jim747 24.Apr.2008, 10:19 AM

Football is always a winner with me! Sounds like a plan. will try for something like that the next time you are heading into town.

Posted by: Griffaluba 24.Apr.2008, 11:59 AM

If you want to come this evening and the only thing stopping you is late night transport (or lack thereof), you're more than welcome to spend the night on our very comfortable sofa and then travel back to Robertsfors tomorrow morning.

Posted by: Damian 24.Apr.2008, 12:05 PM

thank you for the offer Mark but I suspect the wife would be a little surprised if i told her i was spending the night in town with people i had never met ..

next time i'll come, if at a decent hour

Posted by: Griffaluba 24.Apr.2008, 12:21 PM

Hehe... I understand.

I'll tell my two young 20-something female flatmates that we won't be having company this evening then

Posted by: Kaylo 24.Apr.2008, 12:36 PM

Anyway, Team Umeå on a Saturday sometime?
Pick a game/date when you want to trek into town, post it here and probably at least some others will be willing to join you at O'leary's.

Edit: Maybe we should call it Team Västerbotten, or Umeå and surrounds, or Team vaguely in the vicinity of Umeå...

Posted by: jim747 24.Apr.2008, 11:13 PM

Sounds like a good plan to me. Haven't a clue what games will be on at O'Leary's until nearer the time, or when the English Cup Final is being played this year.

I'll be at Umeå IK v Umeå Södra FF on Sat 10th May and at Umeå IK v Frankfurt, UEFA Womens Cup Final on Sat 17th May, so those 2 are awkward for me, unless anyone fancies going to see the games too.

Posted by: Damian 25.Apr.2008, 09:01 AM

well, the english season is nearly over so if it is this season it woudl have to be fairly soon

otherwise, a match at the european championships, that sweden are playing in

i'll happily come to any match and if it were to include aston villa, i'd be there a little early too and probablyin a very good mood

Posted by: jim747 9.May.2008, 06:28 PM

Thinking of heading into town on Sunday to O'Leary's to see who clinches the English Premiership title clashes. Anyone else interested in watching it?

Will be in town tomorrow for the Umeå IK v Umeå Södra game at Gamlia as well.

Kaylo if you are still interested in going to the Umeå IK v Frankfurt home leg of the UEFA Women's cup on Saturday 17th let me know!

Posted by: Damian 9.May.2008, 06:29 PM

i would normally be up for this if it was a saturday

but on a sunday, its the getting home bit drunk again

sorry jim

Posted by: jim747 9.May.2008, 10:01 PM

Hahaha! No problem, never really understood why Sky shifted important footie games to a Sunday. Maybe should start a petition for them to stop fcuking about with traditions.

Saturday always ment Footie, when I were a lad.

Posted by: Kaylo 10.May.2008, 08:55 AM

Debating about next Saturday.
Jim do you know how much tickets are?
And Damian (or any others) any chance you're keen for a live game next weekend, perhaps followed by a beverage or two? The Umeå girls are in the final of the UEFA cup, the home leg is here May 17.

Posted by: jim747 10.May.2008, 10:14 AM

The price of a ticket for a normal match game is 80 SEK.

BUT, this is UEFA and my ticket for the Semi-Final cost me 160 SEK and iv'e just checked the prices for the Final home leg and it's 200 SEK for sittplats or 150 SEK for ståplats!

Posted by: roch 10.May.2008, 11:31 AM

Hey guys.. It's a no for me... not that sport inclined.. hehe... have a great time!

Posted by: jim747 10.May.2008, 06:47 PM

I had a look at the notes for next weeks Womens UEFA Cup Final, the game kicks-off at 13.00 on Saturday 17th May, gates will be open from 11.30 onwards.

Think i'm going to get my ticket when i'm in town on Wednesday, anyone else interested? It's going to be all ticket and limited seats spare, so I suggest anyone that wants to go should get tickets together otherwise we will end up all over the place!

Posted by: jim747 10.May.2008, 09:48 PM

Forgot to mention, I went into O'Leary's today and had a chat with one of the blokes who works there. He said they are probably going to show both Man Utd and Chelsea's games on the screens at the same time tomorrow.

Also, next weekend, if anyone is interested in going to O'Leary's after the Umeå IK match (early kick off), we will be in time (nearly) for the FA Cup Final between Cardiff City v Portsmouth which will be showing that afternoon.

Football Overkill, quality!

Wonder if they are showing the Scottish Cup Final on the 24th between Queen of the South and Rangers. Rangers will probably walk it against the minnows. I'm a fan of neither but I might want to see this one anyway.

Posted by: Damian 12.May.2008, 12:39 PM

i might very well be interested in the fa cup final ..

will come back later in the week and report in

Posted by: Sir Wobbly Camel 12.May.2008, 12:52 PM

Maybe you could all gather outside the local ICA and have a smoke!

Posted by: Kaylo 12.May.2008, 09:54 PM

Right. I'm in for both live game and subsequent liquid refreshment at O'Learys on Saturday.
I agree Jim it's probably best to get tickets booked together, so how do you think is best to go about this?
Did I read that you're coming in to town on Wed?

Posted by: jim747 12.May.2008, 10:45 PM

Yep, iv'e got jävla SFI på onsdag kväll.

But i'm going to head into town in the afternoon and doss around and grab a Mocha at my fave coffee shop. So if you have any free time at lunch we can meet up and get the tickets, or I could pick them up and you can pay me on saturday.

Posted by: Kaylo 13.May.2008, 07:10 AM

Would you mind to get one for me and I'll pay you back Saturday? Have a meeting at work Wed afternoon that I should probably be at.

Posted by: jim747 13.May.2008, 09:26 AM

No problem at all. Will let you know when iv'e got the tickets and we can arrange a meet up for Saturday.

Posted by: Kaylo 13.May.2008, 12:49 PM

Perfect - 'cause I now have two things I should be at work for Wed afternoon...

Posted by: jim747 14.May.2008, 08:13 PM

Hej Kaylo, bought the tickets this afternoon for the Cup Final. I decided to go to the clubhouse to see if I could buy them direct from the club, glad I did, got to meet Hanna Ljungberg. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Kaylo 14.May.2008, 08:38 PM

laugh.gif You're a shocker Jim...

So 13:00 kickoff Saturday, I guess we can meet at the gate beforehand - would 12:45ish be okay do you think?

Hoping the weather will be good!

Posted by: jim747 14.May.2008, 10:14 PM

Would probably be a good idea to meet at 12.30 if possible, I spoke to the guy at the club house today and he said they have sold 2500 tickets this week so far and the demand for more is quite high, so it will be busy. Here's hoping the weather holds becuse we could only get tickets in the 4th row, so if it's raining...

It's not often you can say you have met 2 Swedish sports stars in one week, but iv'e managed it! Hanna Ljungberg today, and last Thursday morning whist dropping my friend off at Umeå airport I met Anja Pärson or Persson or however it is being spelled this week! She's a bit of a hottie in the flesh! That skiing outfit does nowt for her. laugh.gif

Posted by: Kaylo 15.May.2008, 08:16 AM

Okay, 12:30 Saturday. See you then!

Posted by: Kaylo 8.Jun.2008, 07:20 PM

Greetings folks
Need to figure out a time for last team drinks before I leave! How does next weekend look in your schedules?
I spoke to Griff the other day, he"s away now but back later in the week so hopefully will work for him too. I was thinking Saturday afternoon at Bishops Arms, that way if the weather is good we could sit outside. Open to alternative suggestions though.

And Jim I realised that we can go to the footy, there is a evening game 17th. Do you think it necessary to pre-purchase tickets for the normal season games, or can we just get them at the gate?

Posted by: jim747 8.Jun.2008, 07:42 PM

Next Saturday is fine with me, just let me know when to turn up!

I'll be at the game on the 17th for sure, no need to purchase tickets for a league game, and you can sit where you like in the stadium too. We can chat about that on Saturday.

Posted by: roch 9.Jun.2008, 01:57 PM

I'm in biggrin.gif whatever time is cool too.
Hey if your man managed to bring the vegemite can you please work out how much I need to give you for it TACK NO QUIBBLING!!.. if he didn't manage it no worries biggrin.gif

Bishops arms sounds good (I know where it is hehe)

Posted by: Kaylo 10.Jun.2008, 08:27 AM

600g jar of vegemite coming your way Roch.

Bishops Arms, Saturday - maybe 4pm?

Posted by: roch 10.Jun.2008, 01:27 PM

4pm is good for me biggrin.gif

Posted by: Kaylo 10.Jun.2008, 03:22 PM

Good! - but remember the deal, not a Thursday this time, so you're supposed to bring Markus with you...

Posted by: Kaylo 12.Jun.2008, 09:06 AM

Bump in case anyone else in the area hasn't seen this yet.

And Roch count yourself lucky if the vegemite arrives intact on Saturday - I've been sorely tempted to open it myself...

Posted by: roch 12.Jun.2008, 12:22 PM

 do you value your fingers missy????!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway what do you want with a tub of heaven in a jar when you have your man there now!!!!

hehe... and yep am dragging the man with me on sat hehe... (he is really shy around "new" people so you guys have to play nice ok!!!!!)

Posted by: jim747 12.Jun.2008, 10:21 PM

Lamb to the Slaughter haha! Only jokin laugh.gif

See you all on Saturday. Won't be near the pc again till then so I hope it is still Bishops at 4pm (Sweden v Spain kick off is at 6pm though) biggrin.gif

Sorry, I live in Helsingborg...

Why don't you come to Stockholm for the Oct 2nd evening. Meets loads of people and have a blast!

Otherwise, good luck.
There aren't very many sociable expats in Helsingborg either.

Where are th other members of Team Umeå? Bout time we had a meet up and a natter!!

Posted by: Griffaluba 11.Sep.2008, 07:57 PM

Hi all. Been away for a month (in sunny Falun) but am back now. Would be great to meet up. Next week would suit me if anybody else is up for it - any evening except for Friday.

Posted by: jim747 13.Sep.2008, 02:49 PM

Monday and Wednesday are out for me.

So how about doing the usual Thursday in Lottas at 7pm unless anyone fancies The Bishops Arms for a change, I was in about 3 weeks ago for the first time and thought it was ok.

Posted by: Griffaluba 13.Sep.2008, 04:04 PM

Thursday would suit me just fine too and I'm not opposed to the idea of going to Bishops - they have some nice beers there, not to mention salt and vinegar crisps biggrin.gif

Posted by: jim747 13.Sep.2008, 07:02 PM

Salt and Vinegar crisps! Wow, that just about settles it for me. laugh.gif

Thursday, Bishops Arms at 7pm. 8)

Posted by: jim747 17.Sep.2008, 03:41 PM

Damn! Huge apology from me, won't be able to make it tomorrow night.

Working i'm afraid, job can't be done in daytime, so having to work evenings for the next 2 weeks.

Posted by: Griffaluba 17.Sep.2008, 08:46 PM

Okay, no worries Jim. We can make it another time - I'll just have to study instead... maybe.

Posted by: Clariefinch 18.Sep.2008, 06:57 PM

Hi sorry, it took me ages to refind this post lol. I wondered if anyone would like to meet up at my place for a coffee? I live in Ålidhem
ps i have 2 cats so can't be allergic!!

Posted by: Griffaluba 18.Sep.2008, 07:41 PM

Sounds like a plan. I'm not allergic to anything - that I know of. Both Jim and I live fairly close to Ålidhem so it wouldn't be far for either of us to cycle/walk. My e-mail address is markgriff2001 at yahoo dot se. Drop me a line and we can fix a day - what say the others here in sunny Umeå?

Posted by: sixstringvix 23.Sep.2008, 09:13 AM

Just moved to Carlshem 3 weeks ago from England...thought I'd introduce myself on here smile.gif

Would be nice to meet up for a fika (or the alcoholic equivalent!) sometime if anyone fancies it?

Posted by: Clariefinch 23.Sep.2008, 04:56 PM

Hi Victoria
Welcome to Umeå.
I live in Ålidhem just a few minutes walk from Carlshem and you are welcome anytime for coffee.
My email is you can contact me

Posted by: Griffaluba 23.Sep.2008, 10:17 PM

Hi Victoria!

Coffee, tea, soda, alcohol - I'm always in the mood biggrin.gif.

Seriously though, welcome to Umeå. I also live in Carlshem and if you want to drop me a line, you'll find my email address in one of the previous posts on this thread.

PS. Hope you brought your winter woollies with you, it'll be getting cold soon!

Posted by: jim747 24.Sep.2008, 12:23 PM

More newbies! Great.

Think I will be finished with my daft shifts (can't start till kitchen is closing down for the day) and back to normal when i'm done fixing floors at the hospital.

So, i'll be able to make any evening next week except Wednesday (SFI)

Posted by: sixstringvix 24.Sep.2008, 03:26 PM

Cheers people biggrin.gif
Seems as if I'm endlessly free at the moment (aside from whiling away endless hours at the migrationsverket!) so a meet up of any kind suits me a day and a time and I'll be there!

Posted by: Purple_Rache 5.Oct.2008, 01:21 PM

Hi there, I'm living in Berghem, Umeå with my boyfriend. Like most of us waiting on forms to be accepted, I have lots of free time to meet up.

So how many people are there willing to meet up? It's hard to follow in a forum post like this. You could always use, Umeå's looking pretty sad at the moment, hehe.

Posted by: edfot 13.Oct.2008, 03:49 PM

Any room for some more newbies?? My girlfriend and I moved here from England in the summer. Would be nice to meet for a drink sometime...

Posted by: Purple_Rache 13.Oct.2008, 03:56 PM

Hi edfot!

I'm also from the UK, just moved to Umeå from Bristol to be with my boyfriend. Where abouts are you living?

Posted by: edfot 15.Oct.2008, 08:07 AM

I'm living in sunny Tomtebo!

Posted by: jim747 15.Oct.2008, 06:04 PM

Anyone interested in a football meet up this saturday?

It's free entry to the Umeå IK match this weekend as they won the Swedish Damallsvenskan title (again) and it's the final day of the season, and probably the last chance to see Marta playing too.

I'll definatly be going, but if anyone is at a loose end at the weekend and fancies going to the match and having a fika then let me know!

Kick Off is 2pm.

Hello! I've been in Umeå for almost 3 weeks. I'm from New York and will be here for at least the school year, while my husband gets his master's at the design school. We're living in Ålidhem. Right now I'm teaching myself how to cook while figuring out what I'll be doing here. I'm up for fika or getting together! -Charlene

Hello Charlene

I am in Umea as well. Lets get together some time. There is another person just moved from New York in August (kerostarfx) is the user id.

More newbies! Great.

Think I will be finished with my daft shifts (can't start till kitchen is closing down for the day) and back to normal when i'm done fixing floors at the hospital.

So, i'll be able to make any evening next week except Wednesday (SFI)

anyone else who does Wednesdays evenings SFI in Umea.

Hej all, am here too but I am insanely busy until just about before christmas (not that I am complaining I am loving actually working!!!!!)
But I am juggling a full time day job and two part time night jobs which all finish before christmas so will be up for any meet ups around December! (Does that mean I am sort of swedish now that I am planning so far in advance????)

Would love to catch up with jim and grifbula and of course the newbies too. biggrin.gif

Posted by: jim747 27.Oct.2008, 08:54 PM

Cool, nice to hear you are keeping yourself busy, let us know when you are winding down and ready for a catch up, think the last time was June!

Posted by: sixstringvix 29.Oct.2008, 08:28 AM

Hey everyone!

Kinda dropped off of the social planet for a few weeks...was wondering if anyone fancied a meet up at the Bishops Arms this Friday night?? biggrin.gif

Posted by: Griffaluba 29.Oct.2008, 08:42 AM

Sorry Victoria, can't make it Friday but can make it Saturday or maybe even tomorrow after 8pm.

When in December will you be free Roch? I'm heading to Falun on the 16th. It would if Team Umeå could meet up soon, as Jim says the last time was in June - so we're about due for another one!

Hope everyone's well.

Posted by: roch 29.Oct.2008, 09:58 AM

My workload eases up start of december, by then I will only be working one night a week till xmas... so anytime first couple weeks of december is good for me :-)

So what everyone decides regarding time and place I shall be there :-)

Posted by: jim747 29.Oct.2008, 07:13 PM

Friday and Saturday are out for me this week, fixing brakes on my car on friday night after work and Saturday I have a ticket for the Popup gig at Folkets Hus, just want to see Hello Saferide playing!

Ed - great news! What sort of time is good for you guys?

Know it was kinda short notice, but managed to get a sitter for Friday, so afraid tomorrow and Saturday are out for me too... sad.gif

Anyone who fancies a cuppa is still welcome though!!

Posted by: roch 4.Dec.2008, 03:41 PM

I'm in town already on Tuesday I finish teaching a session at 6 so can be free after that. Wed and Thursday are also good.

So what do you suggest???? Its been a while eh? :-)

edit: My car failed bilprovning and I am seeing a guy on sunday about getting the stuff fixed so I MIGHT have to let you know about days in case he wants to fix it one of those evenings (hes doing it after work hours I think!)

Posted by: jim747 6.Dec.2008, 11:23 AM

Any night next week is good for me. Let me know what happens with the car and we can arrange a night through the week and see if any of the rest of the team can make it.

Good luck with the car.

Jim, you've got my number so give me a buzz when you've got the time.

As for meeting up - great idea! The only evening I can't make this coming week is Wednesday.

Posted by: jim747 6.Dec.2008, 09:18 PM

Sorry to rudely barge in, but just thought I would wave a hello. Currently living in London, but the missus hails from your neck of the woods and we're mulling over moving up there perhaps sometime next year. Vague plan at the moment - could end up living anywhere up the coast from the Umeå area upwards to Luleå. Anyhow, 'tis good to see there are some English speakers out there - hopefully I might one day be able to track one or two of you down for a beer?... Bye!

Posted by: roch 8.Dec.2008, 07:38 PM

You can rudely barge in when ever you like if the next time you visit umea from london you bring me a huge jar of marmite :-) will pay of course!

(God I am missing english goodies right now!!!!!) :-)

Yep, you did, twice! Will have a natter tomorrow night.

Bumped for marishams

I did have a quick chat with Roche last night about a possible meet up in February, i'm working away for the next 2 weeks at least, so i'll have to miss out the first week in Feb, unless it's a weekend meet (for a change).

What do you think? Griff, Roche, Marishams? Furu?

Kaylo - We miss you! Little miss organiser laugh.gif

Posted by: Griffaluba 27.Jan.2009, 06:46 PM

Middle of Feb then? I will probably be in need of a beer on the 14th Feb - I'm taking the tax law re-sit that day. Mind you, the date's ringing some other bells (not too sure why...).

Posted by: roch 27.Jan.2009, 07:21 PM

probably because its valentines day... i know I don't care about it but markus being the romantic one out of the two of us might hehe...

Posted by: Griffaluba 28.Jan.2009, 07:31 PM

Valentines day? Oh yeah, that's the day everybody else gets a card smile.gif

Seriously though, set a date and I'll try to be there. Do you reckon you could bake some more of those lovely cookies Roch? Oops, wasn't meant to let Jim know

Posted by: roch 28.Jan.2009, 09:35 PM

Have already promised jim that I shall bring you guys some baking when we meet up ( I made choc chunk muffins yesterday mmmmmmmmmm)
Should have known you couldn't keep a secret if your life depended on it eh? don't worry I also told jim hehe...
Dates I cant do around that time so far are tuesdays as I am teaching from 3-9pm. (and by 9 I will be good for nothing!!!!) Also wednesdays as I am teaching early afternoon and dont fancy having to go home and come back... everything else at this point is wide open. I have a meeting on monday morning to discuss some other possibilities for classes so I could have more nights... will have no idea until monday...

But it will be great to catch up and I wish you all the best for your exams!!!!!!!!
I will hold my thumbs for you :-)

Nice meeting you too, let me know if you end up heading down for the footie. Last friday night was great, loads of faces I had not met before. I was rough as hell on the Saturday though!
