Taxation depends by the area you are leaving, is not easy to make a precise estimation without that parameter... 25k are not good but not bad either for your age.

There is a link in another thread on this site, which has the information (google normally finds that one for me).

http://www.ekonomifakta.se/sv/Fakta/Skatte...a-ut-din-skatt/

There is local income tax, so it will depend a bit on where you live.

Assuming you will live in central stockholm it says 19,639 after tax which is fine to live on.

I hope your employer is helping you find somewhere to live, or that will be the next thread you start biggrin.gif, can be a bit tricky in stockholm, particularly if you are currently not in Sweden.

interesting

>25000k pa

so if k indicates thousands
and pa is per annum

25 000 000 sek per year

I don't think you will have to worry about tax or sharing a flat
What's the role - accountant ?

To answer your question, you wiil take home roughly 19,700 p/m, but could be a less by a couple of % depending on your tax area.

If you have an iphone, (you may need to create an id for Swedish itunes), you can download the app Lön 2013.

Thank you for you input appreciated.

When asked question on salary think 2200 krona per month but thats only around £50 per week can't be right?

if 22000 krona then £2315 approx per month.

Could you after tax on that live in what? a room there

This should help with after tax calculation:

http://www.ekonomifakta.se/sv/Fakta/Skatte...a-ut-din-skatt/

Renting is hard here, i've been told, but you should be be able to have an okish standard of living i'd imagine, just do not expect to have much, if any, disposable income (that would depend on your chosen standard of living of course!)

Good luck! smile.gif

Hehe no worries:

Boendekommun- Where you live basically.

Din lön kr/mån- Your monthly salary.

Andra inkomster- Other income, pension etc.

Födelseår- Birthdate.

Medlem i Svenska kyrkan- whether or not you are a member of the swedish church smile.gif

Hope that helps! ^^

Oh and your salary should come out at around 17000 a month!

OK, so lets assume that after tax, your take home is 17000.

So, you get a cheap studio flat maybe just outside of the capital to save money, that will be around 5000 could be lower,

Your travel costs will be high, I think it's like 9000 a year for zones a little further away from the capital, that's 750 a month.

Your food costs may be 1000 a week, that's 52000 a year and on average 4350 a month.

Then there will be other things, clothes, bits and pieces... I don't spend much on clothing, I'm the worlds worst consumerist in that regard, I've had much of my clothes since the age of 15 and i'll be honest, when I'm not at work I look like a homeless person biggrin.gif hmmm maybe 1000 a week for things that you need, replacement parts for whatever, new kettle, new shoes... So that's another 4350 a month.

Then say you want to go out at least every fortnight, we can put that at 2200.

That all comes to:

Rent- 5000
Bills- 2000
Travel card- 750
Food- 4350
Other stuff- 4350( that may be a little high, I earn more than 22000 and I'd never dream of spending that much )
Going out- 2200(that may be a little low, I spend maybe 4000 a month on that at least.)

Now that totals: 18650 but if we halve the 'other stuff' to 2175, that would give you 16475 and aroun 500 kronor to put away.

Personally, I'd recommend this for your level of income:

Rent- 5000
Bills- 2000
Travel card- 750
Food- 2200( spending only 500 a week)
Other stuff- 1000 ( only buy things that are100% needed)
Going out-2200(this can't be avoided, you need to socialise! May be try to find free events in your area or join a charity. If you are religious then your local church or relgious place or worship may be a good place to get to know people )

So that will be around 13150 leaving you with 3850 to put away. But you may or may not find such a life style difficult to accustom yourself to,it depends

You will probably find a nice middle ground somewhere though smile.gif hope this helps!
