Yep, I've always been very hard on me, it's kinda philosophy or life style.
This is my second year I apply. Last year I lacked info very much so I entered TOEFL after deadline and my application was a late one...no scholarship was available... A couple of months later I was even offered a place in Oxford but couldn't make it as well for the same reason.
Sweden's the best place to study and live I think, I don't worry about prestige or stuff like that. If I could choose between Harvard and Uppsala, I'd definitely choose Uppsala...
I really count on them this year coz I'm too old (I'll be 29 in July) for next year biggrin.gif and my TOEFL is going to expire...
We just must get it and we'll get it! wink.gif

Davit thank you so much for your support wub.gif It is really very kind of you. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do, because it is selection and they select us as candidates/professionals and not as lovers or so on. Therefore, we will wait for answers and hope luck will be on our side ..

You're so welcome dear. Things like that make me impulsive and make think extraordinarily... I mean, I'm quite a pragmatic person and I do realize they won't focuse on it. But still they won't if we don't ask them to... I know the possibilities are very miserable but we or you can try at least. It won't make worse.

Yes you are absolutely right, but I have not even thought about it and also the content of the letter. I think they won't take into account personal matters, that's why I have not tried it sad.gif Hope our strong profiles will be acceptable for them, otherwise I have no idea what matters for them

I may sound like a hypocrite because I also have related problems with being hard on myself and stuff, but you really should try to stop doing that. At least for this week before the 10th. By the way, I was this close to sending my TOEFL report late because I ordered the score report to be shipped to the wrong address. God, I can't describe what I felt and what words I used to describe that situation back then)
And getting into Oxford sounds really cool, regardless.
I personally wanted my specific program in Uppsala way before I knew I wanted to apply to the second MA. Yeah, mystical))
And, as Thao mentioned before, this year is not the end. There's no such thing as been too old to study. I mean, seriously, man? You are JUST 29. For example, I am 27, and I know a lot of really smart people who went back to school in their late 20's and 30's and are doing quite fine biggrin.gif Cheer up!

Guys,

visby motivation letter was really tricky one to answer the questions in professional as well as personal way. Hence, I think its quality will play a major role in our selection. Don't you think the same?

Just think about it... If you feel it is totally nonsense then OK but if you'll feel it maaaay be help just for 1 percent to a million then just text to me, I'm ready to help you with the letter. It's not because I think I'm smarter I just think you're too stressed to compose...

Yes, I feel that scholarship will be given to us, if our motivation letter is of high quality. at present i feel in this way, because recommendation is just formal, they know that it will be full with good stuff ))

That's right they put motivation letter higher than recommendation.
And it's pity coz I asked my boss to give a reference letter and she blasted it biggrin.gif I mean, when I read it I just fall in love with myself )))
I've applied to about 5 unis in UK just to grade my cpotential and unlike many other countries they really consider reference letters much. UK is unique everywhere )

Hi guys,

I just realized that my CV is not exactly the same as the format they indicated we use. See, I just downloaded the doc. and saw that it was the same as my Europass CV, so I just went on to europass page and updated my CV. The only differences between them is that one is PDF and mine says 2002-2017 at the bottom but the doc says 2002-2015.

Did everyone fill their CV's on the doc. they have on site?

Hey guys,

In case you are curious, the notification email that was sent last year had the name "Advance notice regarding your SI scholarship application"

In case you receive a similar email you are the lucky one wink.gif

Btw, I also feel that my recommendation is better than my motivation! hopefully they will consider more the recommendation ...

I've filled it downloading the file from their website. I'm sure you don't have to worry about it coz they require a particular format - it could be doc, docx or pdf. As far as you excluded you photo and filled a europass CV, you've done everything correct!
