Loved the story:

''Volunteers have to send a photograph and write about themselves, but in return they get invited to the reception.''

But, you do have be decent.

Sorry, Holecutter, I think that rather leaves you not at the alter ... laugh.gif  laugh.gif

What I'm waiting for, though, is the Local wedding of the year ... 2009, maybe?

Decent, eh? I guess that leaves me out. tongue.gif

That's pretty generous of her to invite thirty complete strangers to partake in the free food and booze of the reception. One wonders what they and the groom's guests will talk about, though.

I actually applied. Thought that if I got accepted, it would be a great way to meet thirty new family members in the UK. In my application, I told her I knew what it felt like to be a bride in another country when I only had a few members of my own family present. It would be fun to be an older cousin and ooh and ahh and cry when she walks down the aisle. I AM sappy like that. Plus, Ryan Air is cheap, and I need to hit a few bookstores there and M and S, anyway. It would be great fun- hope I make at least the back up list of potential guests.
