meaning they should kill themselves whiles Sweden makes huge profits in monetary terms?

How many countries in the world don't sell or buy weapons?

The very reason that you have the freedom to sit where ever you and post on here, is because people at various points in history were brave enough to stand up and pull the trigger.

You can't fault the US for what they did when they eventually joined ww2, foreign policy arguably turned a corner there after. But, better them as a global super power than Hitler or Stalin.

When did you arrive in Sweden?. I think it says something that within 7 years you were married and divorced twice in Sweden... I think that says a lot

Not surprising really, gauging by her general overbearing tone, attempting to shame perfect strangers on an obscure forum, as if she was the new Sheriff in town.

Kind of has a Scientology type aggro-anal-retentiveness about her.

Somewhat clueless but fully invested in her own self-exaggerated "exceptionalisms".

Well, good luck to that beatch.

How presumtious of you
I was married in the UK many many years ago - I got divorced in Sweden as it was cheap and no fuss (didn't divorce earlier as up until I did there was no need). I have been married once in Sweden and I am still happily married today smile.gif

Oh I arrived in Sweden c. 10 years ago.

Maybe you should have adapted to understand that Swedish as a language is a literal. You are in Sweden so why should they adapt to how you speak?

Yes, I do adapt my English to how Swedes will understand it.

Offer your tube seat to a pregnant lady? A friendly exchange with the checkout clerk, or fellow bus stop people who you've seen dozens of times? Dream on. . This is no way to go through life...

This isn't my experience at all. Maybe it says more about you?

Why do people move countries and expect life to be as it was back home or expect people to adapt for them?

Yes, every Swede can be proud that they not only did nothing to stop Hitler, but they also profited from the death of millions.

Why should today's Swedes feel guilty about anything? If someone tells me I should feel guilt about what Britain did 100 years ago I tell them to f**k off.

Should the Italians feel forever guilty for being on Hitler's side? The Greeks? Spanish? We don't seem to give the Russian's the credit they deserve for helping beat Hitler.

As for profiting from the death of millions, who didn't profit from the war? Germany had their debt wiped out in the 70s as did Japan but Britain still paid the Americans until the late 00s when we paid our debt in full.

You gotta love that special relationship!

What does it say? That she was unlucky? Maybe they weren't Swedes or there were other factors?

And Finland was the first and only now EU country to pay its debts in total, decades before any other, starting already in the 50's, much to its own detriment.

The thing is with the arrogance of Swedes. They actually consider themselves the f'ing Saints of WWII. And that brings flak. So in a way, they are perpetuating the wrongs done by their grandfathers, by not owning up to it and being honest about Sweden's role.

And they don't, not in my experience.

Swedes I have talked to about my grandfather, for example, who helped liberate France, from the evils of Hitler, has been met with a smugness quite repugnant, that oft included a "we were neutral" with more than an air of arrogance.

So ya, I say a j?tte f' you to all the Swedes who are proud, still today, and would do it again, this BS "neutrality" they falsely pride themselves on.

Churchill should have let the Yanks bomb northern Sweden back then, as they wanted to do. It would have served them right.

And maybe try to ask a Finn or a Norwegian, what they think of precious little Sweden, and cowardliness displayed during that period, to their own countries' detriment. This feature of Swedish history is certainly still talked about often to this very day in those countries.

Not in my experience, perhaps yours. 99.9% have moved on, there are so few folk alive now who experience it. Even the semi distant Norwegian relatives I have whose grand parents were from Rjukan and part of the resistance that blew up the heavy water plants, ferry etc. Why would they talk about it often, it's old news to the say the least.

The truth here is the fact that the Swedish government has kept its people safe from the horrors of repeated European wars since 1815...

The rest of you are jealous because your governments used you for cannon fodder whilst paying your money for the cannons bought from Sweden to do it...Oh the comedy!!! laugh.gif

And...you still don't realize that when you met the enemy it was you!!! laugh.gif

Because Sweden is liberal dictature. You can say what you want untill you say something not mainstream. No, you will not be arrested and sent to Gulag but you will be silenced so your opinions can not be spread. Say something about bad corona politics, no newspaper, no tv station will give you possibility to debate (se what happened first to scientist which opposed, they were portraited and ridiculed as "will dentists say something about epidemics". Have you se a open tv debate like in other european counties? No. Have you se opposition? No. Or i missed.

Try to discuss critic some social problems, for example immigrants or takers of socialbidrag, if your opinion is not mainstream you will be silenced by changing of subject.

Try to be politician with program to legalize prostitution for example, like in many other european states. You will never get to newspapers or tv.

Liberal-democratic dictature, that is Sweden. That is reason why i do not like it.

Talk to the younger Swedes, they are still quite proud of their "accomplishments" in WWII.

And yes, still talked about often by many in Finland and Norway, even if not by the originals.

Why? Ever heard of Armistice day? Why have that? Why "remember"?

But ya, you're right SkoBo. WWII, such old news, no one talks about that anymore, eh. Least not in Europe.
