How is that related with profession?. What about engineers? Is the order of processing related to occupation and country of origin?

Certain industries are subject to more stringent control:

Further update regarding my case:
Called Migrationsverket 2 days before and got to know that Case officer has been assigned for my case.
Emailed to Case officer and got response from Support that they are still working on December cases. Seems like copy / pasted response.

Does anyone knows how long it will take since Case Officer is assign and he/she actually takes the case to make decision. smile.gif

I applied September 2015, also a chef/cook, and I still have no decision. Been about 8 months now, so looks like we both have some additional waiting to do.. sad.gif

I would say you will have to wait 8 to 12 months so be patient wink.gif

Can you share where you got this number? The website estimated 5-8 months for restaurant and hotel professions. Is there an updated timeframe I haven't seen that says 8-12? It's been about 8 for me, with no decision yet (chef), so I'm trying my best to be SUPER patient..

Yes, I'd also like to know. My whole life is basically on hold as it could come any day now.
