to hang out with some of you Locallers. Geoff told me you don't hang out at O'Connell's anymore so that sucks but i'll succumb to peer pressure. I arrive back in Stockholm on the 3rd so would be nice to drink a bit and hang with you guys. I met several of you already at the 2 meetups I did manage to get off the couch and attend and it was great. see now you have a month to plan on coming or not. tongue.gif

O'Donnells was the biggest losers joint in Stockholm...and probably still is, on a tie with The Liffey. If you ever want to hear a hard-luck story, or want to socialise with incoherent plastered half-wits, they're the places for you. You'll also meet the lower-order of Swedish women, the type the trawl the bars looking for a free beer or 10 and an easy night.
Stick to the mainstream pubs, you'll have a much better night out. Guaranteed.

maybe your return would be a good reason to revisit o'c.
anyhow kev, it's a bit early to make plans in july in my book, but repost closer to the date and i'm sure you'll get lots of responses. also keep in mind that the football will be on then, so wherever you chose must show the games.
hope to see you in july

Oh I quite enjoyed O'Connell's. Nice atmosphere though very man-heavy there. Plus quite niche but sure i'm up for any place you guys want.

*bump*

I'll be in Stockholm around the afternoon and I'm sure many of you will be glued to the quarterfinals matches so i'm sure there are a good few pubs worthy of meeting in but would be great to see you all again as I haven't been to Sweden since I left in March of last year and I will definitely be enjoying every minute of my time back.

The Liffey is not as bad as Mackan makes it sound. Guess it all depends on why you're going there in the first place. Sports, food, and service are good. They have a nice sports bar section downstairs, lots of tv's, and the sound is up. My boyfriend and I both enjoy going there, as do a bunch of our friends.
It's mainly a mature bar, you won't find many (if any) teeny bopper 18 yr old types on the prowl.
