Remember what I have been saying about what will happen if the swarming of unqualified and wage stagnating work migration to Sweden continued? It has finally happened, the left and the right are in agreement.

Corporate is getting desperate. Odd then that India, a country with some of the strictest laws in the world regarding work migration manages to have an it industry that according to the propaganda is "world class", since industry needs work migration.

Looks like the conservative Christian Democrats want to go even further. 35k sek per month minimum to waive the labour market testing.

These kinds of tests do not really work, even now with the minimum salary rule it is quite common that there is a deal between employer and employee where the total paid in salary each month goes according to what was told to Migrationsverket and payslips produced to show that, after which the employee gives back to the employer a portion of the money received as monthly payment for the permit service.

Oh they are all just trying to draw voters towards their respective parties.

In the long run, this will only polarize certain parties even more.

This is indeed great news for Indian Tech talent like me whose high skills & experience are desperately needed by Sweden.

QUOTE
The government's proposals included a so-called 'talent visa' that would allow individuals with skills the Swedish labour market needs to move more easily. In addition, the government proposed simplification of the labour migration process in general, and in particular making it easier for foreign workers to travel during processing time.
UNQUOTE

Migrationsverket took 6+ months to process my work permit renewal, during which travel is severely restricted. This is unacceptable for a country trying to attract more such talent into the country - the new proposals will surely help.

But we still have a long way to go before we can match Germany in the EU who is able to pull in many more Indian IT workers than Sweden.

Indeed, genuine world class talent, with world class wages has nothing to fear from this. Those who have something to fear are the fifth-tier talent brought in to work for starvation wages.

Regarding this deluded comment, Germany probably pay more than Sweden for skilled workers and that probably explains why you are in Sweden.

Agree, Germany has friendlier work permit processes for Indians AND pays more due to stronger EUR compared to SEK.

Sweden must improve to match them so that we can attract more and more well educated & qualified immigrant professionals.

I am in Sweden because I have worked Scandinavian customers since 1998, when I first moved to Copenhagen and am well rewarded and respected in this region.

How do you get through doorways with a head so big, Why did you leave Copenhagen or was it nore likely you were kicked out.

Sweden doesn't need to WASTE money on immigrant labour, it needs to spend that money on educating its own people.

P.S. My son is a systems analyst and he says Indian people are LAZY. But he's like me, he loves the food, so take that as a plus, can you cook?

P.P.S. Commented at 04:27 AM, what time do you start work.

Germany has a tougher work permit rule than Sweden. So are you saying Sweden should introduce their old rule (which existed until early 2000s) that a work permit could only be issued if approved by the Unemployment Office? (which is what Germany does).

Or maybe you mean they should change the EU Blue Card, which has same rules as Germany already!

Probably that they won't work more than 8 hours per day without proper compensation and that they demand to earn more than a fast food worker.
