Virtual card numbers, chargebacks

Do they exist in Sweden?

I'm about to open a bank account in Sweden and get a debit (or maybe credit?) card with it, so I wanted to ask a few things:

1) Do any Swedish banks offer the ability to generate "virtual" card numbers, that is temporary MasterCard/VISA card numbers attached to your real card where you can set a limit on the total amount charged via that card number? (I find these really handy.)

2) Are chargebacks a thing in Sweden? If so, does this vary depending on whether I have a debit or a credit card? (I don't mean for unauthorised transactions, like when the card was stolen. I mean, if I pay for some product/service with a card and don't receive it or it's different to what I ordered and the merchant is uncooperative, can I get my money back from MasterCard/VISA?)

Looks like SEB Estonia offers virtual cards: https://www.seb.ee/eng/everyday-banking/cre...ds/virtual-card

No mention of it on seb.se, though. sad.gif

Sorry I meant virtual card numbers. They are no longer supported

For chargebacks if you have not received the items then you can contact the bank and use kortreklamation. See here for what Swedbank say https://www.swedbank.se/privat/kort-och-bet...ttransaktioner/

First you contact the merchant and then send it on to your bank.

FYI I had a Nordea credit card which was linked to the taxikurir app. I was billed wrongly for a trip and got an SMS confirmation from taxikurir that the money would be paid back to me but never was. I used nordea's kortreklamation sent them the details, the SMS screenshot and got money back after 50 days.

You also have a 14 day right to return the item if you are not happy with the product

Very useful, thank you! Sounds like "kortreklamation" is the Swedish word for chargeback. Do you know if there's a difference between credit cards and debit cards when it comes to chargebacks? I know that in some countries credit cards offer stronger protection.
