Hey everyone!

I am from Australia and I am planning on moving to Stockholm for a while. I am a little bit confused with the rules of the Working Holiday Visa and applying for a Work Permit.

The idea would be to head over there on a Working Holiday Visa, complete a little bit of contract work for a while and then eventually seek full time work and get a Work Permit.

Is it possible to get a Work Permit while in Sweden on a Working Holiday Visa?

Thanks!

So I did a simple search (I should have done this first), and I found this thread:

Alex29 said their friend "... found a job and stayed working for the same company after the visa has expired switching to work permit without having to go back home."

It is not possible any longer after a 2016 court case.

Could you possibly expand on this a bit? I am currently on a working holiday visa and looking for the best route forwards in order to stay here. I have been told that no applications will be accepted while my working holiday visa is active, but I have also heard that it wont be a problem to apply for a work permit. In both cases hearing this from different Migrationsverket call center employees.

Thank you for the help.
