just wait few days you will receive decision because you already have case officer.maybe around 3 weeks

I have been waiting with a case officer for three weeks with no updates.
Seems the time after assigning a case officer to get a decision is also increasing!

I'm waiting for someone to look over my application since January 2017, for almost 33 months. Happy queuing to everyone!

After waiting an unreasonable length of time (9 months and I know other that have been waiting longer) I submitted a conclude case request with Migrationsverket over the summer to which I got a standard letter saying they have not touched my case yet and don't know when they will.

Is there anything more I can do at this point? I read somewhere there was an ombudsman you could go to, I also wonder if there are any EU regulations relating to the poor performance of government departments?

1. time outside Sweden - i traveled more times but not longer than 6 weeks total - need i write in this travels?

2. i see that waitingtime for citizenship is long - what is more fast metod to get citizenship, go to Migrationsverket direkt and leave searching there or write on webb?

i received email from Mhv today .... 32 months already waiting smile.gif is there any reality ?

Hi!

I have a question regarding citizenship/dual citizenship.

What would happen if decided to return to my home country(forever) after obtaining dual citizenship? I would say good bye to my current job.

I'm from Non-Eu and I have a 5 years old daughter and a wife.

Thanx.

Hello,
If you granted Swedish citizenship you can not lose it unless new legislation provided such as what is under consideration in Denmark, to revoke Danish citizenship for those committed specific crimes.

I am agree with you that it is very difficult to wait. I am waiting 27 months now, requested for concluding that was rejected and still waiting for the court to decide since last three weeks that they received my appeal.
But I should accept that the Swedish citizenship is not a right, it is a favor from Sweden. There are also other priorities for the Migrationsverket, such as deciding on asylum cases that cost at least 60,000 SEK per month per person for tax payers. It is also clear that they are doing a great job now, deciding 250 cases of citizenship each day that is 5 case per officer. That is really nice work in Sweden comparing to other Swedish governmental agencies.

I see what you mean.
I have a case officer since the beginning of August. So it's soon going to be three months.
Rang her last week and she said she can not tell me how long it will take. She didn't tell me any reason as to why I have to wait for that long when I asked her what information she is waiting for.
So hope it doesn't happen to you and you get your decision soon after being assigned a case officer.

60,000 SEK per month per person for tax payers. .

No words to express my feelings on this. Here my story in 75% short.

Sweden didnt allow my daughter to attend Nursery/Kindergarten during the WP extension period because she didnt have PN and we all had co-ordination number that time.our WP extension took around 30 months which ended up in deportation due to missing insurance which employer was corrected before applying for extension.(missing insurance due to co-ordination number and insurance company's policies)

We were on constant pressure during this waiting period.Imagine there was a school right in front of our house and not been able to send child to it because of missing 10 digit number? my daughter (now 5 years old) she missed all the socialising experience with other children during her early brain development stage as a result now she has problem with connecting other children at school.

I should have come here on a boat instead of on an A380.

I am really sorry and I understand frustration especially when a child is affected. As you can see in my post I said asylum as an example and your case can be one of those cases that should had been sorted out as priority. What I was talking was about those who have permanent residence permit and are waiting for Swedish citizenship, that is the main topic of this thread, not work permit etc.

Citizenship or WP both treated equally here.No value for professionals or tax payers!
