Finally got an answer from someone at Uppsala!

"Dear Kaitlin,

Thank you for your email. At Uppsala University, we will automatically convert your application to a late one (received February 2) so you do not have to re-apply yourself, we will do that for you."

So I'm apparently out for this round :/ but good to know they will still consider it and that they will take care of it. Also that they process late applications in order of receipt date, so having it in the 2nd isn't the worst (the 1st would have been better).

My programs generally received fewer applicants this year, except my first choice, of course lol

1. MP Early Modern History-Uppsala: 44 applicants, 17 first choice
2.MP Global Environmental History-Uppsala: 89 applicants
3. MP Holocaust and Genocide Studies: 117 applicants

Last year my first choice received 29 applications, 17 first choice. They admitted 7 the first round with MR 900, and then 6 second round with MR 900. There was also one SA with MR 962, so hopefully there will be room for me somewhere in there!

Finally an explanation -

“Eligible without merit-based evaluation, ÖS” is a selection group all eligible applicants to the Master programme of Electrical Engineering are placed in. This is normal procedure when the Admission Office needs to review every application manually for a merit rating.

At the statistics page, the second number from the the right is "First Choice applicants" or "First time applicants"? I think it's first time and not First Choice as someone wrote in an earlier post. Can we find out how many First choices are for a given program?

Why do you think it is First time applicants? Not all translation on google translate are reviewed. I think "First Choice applicants" makes sense. 1:a is första means first and handssökande means something to the extent of choice or preliminary applicants.

wow, if it is from Linnaeus it means the same for me. Now I feel more relaxed, because I thought it was not competitive group and I was worried about my chances.
Thank you for sharing this e-mail.

Hey everyone!

I was checking my application, and one of the programs I applied for (in Stockholm U) now shows me as qualified!

My selection group is:
No selection (PGIU)

Can anyone confirm what this means please? My Google fu tells me this is a guaranteed selection, but I wanted to make sure before I explode with happiness.

Also: still waiting from Lund and Gothenburg - both inprogress still!
