The Local _ Jobs _ Becoming a Pharmacy Technician in Sweden

Posted by: hanmaltkvist 3.Oct.2016, 04:47 PM

Has anyone gone through this process before, having been certified in another country? I was working as a Pharmacy Technician in the USA, and I am certified and registered with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, having passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and I do have an official certificate and all that jazz.

I am aware that Sweden has different standards for this particular position from the USA, but I was curious if anyone in a similar situation had gone through the process of becoming a Pharmacy Technician in another country, and then becoming a apotekstekniker here in Sweden.

I know one of the biggest things is the language, and I am studying regularly, but beyond that I'm not sure how to go about this process.

Does my certification mean anything? Can it be evaluated and at least give me a head start with the education I need to become a apotekstekniker? Can I just take a test and if I pass it's done with? I would really hate to start all over seeing as how it was a job I was already doing in the USA.
