The Local _ Life in Sweden _ Cheap calls to India

Posted by: Sleepless In Malmo 20.Feb.2010, 05:16 PM

I've been using Taj Mahal phone cards up until now. They used to give me about 300 mins on a 100SEK card. But recently I've found that the number of minutes have been drastically reduced. Can't figure out why or how. Anyway, if anyone knows of a better/cheaper alternative to call India, would you please share. Many thanks in advance and all that sort of thing.

Free skype to skype if the other side has a computer.

Thanks for that guys. Skype out is about .80 SEK per minute...not exactly cheap, and unfortunately skype to skype option doesn't work coz the other party doesn't know how to use a computer.

Anything else...anyone? Bueller?

Voipdiscount is good, if you are calling from a pc to a landline. It costs 10 euros (roughly 115sek) to set up an account, then you get 120 free days, (pc to landline is free in most countries and pc to moblies in USA and Thailand are free too) after the free days you start to use up the credit,(which takes ages) then top up again for 10 euros and you have 120 free days again, and so on and so forth. I have been using it for over 2 years now, can't fault it.

I have skype too, but like you said, it costs unless it's a skype to skype call.

Signed up at RebTel...the voice clarity/quality is fantastic and they've got some sort of promo on where it costs just 0.13kr per minute...happiness!

Posted by: Vitas 23.Feb.2010, 12:21 PM

RebTel...It is not good. Dont forget add price for local number. It is yours bussines but I think much better for example http://www.rynga.com - 0.118 sek

Posted by: Sleepless In Malmo 24.Feb.2010, 09:36 AM

I'm happy with Rebtel. Some of the other service providers require you to use a PC to call a landline or mobile phone. With Rebtel I can just dial from my mobile phone, which is very convenient. Thanks everyone, for your suggestions.
