Why is this story not on TL??

A woman in Sweden was interrogated by police, had her DNA taken and was subsequently imprisoned for the “crime” of sharing a joke meme about Islam on Facebook.

The 32-year-old woman from Gothenburg drew the attention of authorities after she posted the image below, which depicts a Muslim man having his brain removed and then being wrapped in Islamic head dress.

While the meme may be considered offensive, what happened next was truly Orwellian.

A reporter alerted police to the post, claiming that the woman had expressed herself “in a threatening manner” towards a protected group. The reporter passed on details of the woman’s identity and her place of residence.

The woman was then asked to visit a police station in Gothenburg, where her DNA was taken and entered into a criminal database.

The woman profusely apologized for the post, claiming she thought it was aimed at members of ISIS, while asserting that her best friend was Muslim and that she was ill at the time with a fever when she posted the image.

This did not satisfy authorities, who proceeded to interrogate her about her thoughts on Sweden’s “multicultural society” and whether she had “something against Muslims”. The woman insisted she was against the Islamic State, not individual Muslims.

However, Gothenburg prosecutor Sara Toreskog decided to proceed with charges of hate speech and the woman now faces two years in prison.

As we have exhaustively documented, Sweden is an authoritarian country that prosecutes people for satire and telling the truth.

Last year, a 70-year-old Swedish woman was prosecuted for hate speech for saying she saw migrants setting fire to cars, something that happens all the time in Sweden.

Swedish police officer Peter Springare is also under investigation for merely observing that “foreign-born offenders” are largely responsible for the country’s gang rape problem.

Last year, Sweden put YouTube star PewDiePie, their biggest export since Abba and Ikea furniture, on an official hate list.

A left wing group in the country is collecting social media posts and attempting to track down the authors for their “crimes of opinion.” The group has been mainly successful in exposing elderly people for “inciting hate” on social media.

With the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats performing well in polls in the run-up to the September 2018 elections, many commentators suggest that Swedes have one last chance to rectify the politically correct hellhole their country has become before it’s too late.

When it comes to freedom of speech and human rights it only applies to other countries and Sweden is the first to criticise.

ANYBODY publicly posting incitement and threats on facebook against other groups, whether white/brown/black and of any religion, must be investigated by police.

But yes, sometimes the police do go overboard - this happens in all countries, not just Sweden.

Its the same in the US, while police regularly profile and target blacks & minorities, its only white nationalists who get outraged when a terrorist of their type is arrested by police.

Looks like we have a few of this type here too : SweNazis : for sure the police must keep a close watch on them, so our Swedish peace is not ruined by fascists.

What is the meaning of the word fascism?
Fascism is a way of ruling that advocates total control of the people...

So, you are saying that the woman's treatment was not Fascism!!!

What's wrong with you???

No it does not. Only the Press has a kind of Freedom of Speech that I suspect you are referring to. Unfortunately, right now, the Socialist government are tabling a change to the constitution that will even limit that.

Freedom of speech (FoS) does & should not include the right to threaten or malign others - that can and should have criminal or civil repercussions.

For example

"Islamic terrorism is a real threat to Sweden and we must investigate it deeper" - allowed under FoS. This is how normal people discuss the issue.

"Muslims are a danger to Sweden, we must ban them and remove them from the country" - Hate speech, not allowed under FoS. This is the type of language the right-wing SweNazis use, and are a danger to Sweden too.

So are you are saying for example, if you don't like something you are not allowed to say that.
If you feel that you are intimidated by something, you are not allowed to say that.
Are you saying that people do not have the right of opinion.
If I say I don't like religion, is that hate speech.
If I say I don't like Red Japanese cars, is that hate speech.
Please specify where the line is here because I don't know.

Of course you are allowed to spew hate & threats against other people or groups online, thats your call. I suspect you also know exactly where the line is, but choose not to see it.

All I am saying is that, the police must then also check up on you to see the pattern of your posts, to make sure you are not one of those crazies who picks up a gun and acts on it.

This should apply both to the hardcore Islamists as well as white nationalist types without exception.

That comment, in and of itself, could be considered a hate speech against police. Police do not regularly target blacks and other minorities. They respond to crime which statistically occurs in poor neighborhoods where there are higher concentrations of minorities. To say otherwise is inciting hate.

You are failing to answer any of my questions. You say you know where the line is bit don't specify, so how can I choose not to see it.
From what you are saying, what ever I don't like is hate speech can you please confirm this.
Please be straight forward.
