Worst example??? Try the same thing in Afghanistan, Iran and a host of other Islamic countries. Face it, Islam is not the religion of tolerance that it claims to be.

I don’t think any religion is as tolerant, loving, and peaceful as they claim to be. And it isn’t the religion that makes those countries so oppressive... it’s the ruling power. They then manipulate and oppress through religion. I’d say plenty of American politicians, and people, do the same thing and use religious beliefs to control and oppress individual freedoms.

For the amount of shitty Muslim extremists I’m sure there are just as many Christian extremists. Sure Muslims and terrorism is in the press now but every, EVERY religion has plenty of blood on their hands throughout history.

But I do agree, bsmith, that in those countries you named they would probably flip shit if there were Christian schools going up. Or if jehovas witnesses showed up! Lol!

Goes back to my earlier comment though. And thank you gsurya for sharing the article with th education minister. However, I still wonder if religion in private schools became an issue when Islamic schools started appearing more and more. I don’t expect an answer but I suspect that’s the case.

And yes, what about the church of Sweden and the tax that’s paid to them until you write yourself out of the church. So yea... I agree the government should sever ties with the church of Sweden to put there money where their mouth is and truly be separate church and state. Shoot I wish politics in America weren’t so tied up with Christian values, at least not in th same rhetoric. And no I don’t get upset about the pledge of alliegience having “under god” in it. Just to put that out there. smile.gif

Actual Christian values as taught by Christ himself???? Nothing wrong with those. But, there are those that espouse Christian values even though they are far from having an actual Christian based agenda. Wolves in sheep's clothing.

Christian conservatives in USA are supporting a molester/rapist, pussy-grabbing, twice divorced, porn star sugardaddy, pedophile supporter & philanderer as their leader.

While Christian liberals are opposing him. Guess whose side Christ is on?

This thread clearly shows what happens on a global scale, "my imaginary friend is better than yours" "No mine is better blah blah blah" Why cant we take a step and back and see that its totally crazy to believe in a man in the clouds in the same year in which we put a car into space for publicity... But no, thousands of Gods in the world and everyone thinks theirs is real, ffs.
Religion is a cancer on humanity and has no place in education or the government, if you want to believe in archaic beliefs do it at home and keep it to your self.

Bang on, unfortunately there are some on here who pretend to agree but don't in reality. And those people know who I am referring too. Because once brain washed it's hard to clean up the mesh.

My partner's dad believed that Jesus was a space alien who came to earth on a rocket ship and the Ascencion was when he blasted off back into outer space again - and the reason why church steeples are shaped the way they are is because they were modeled after Jesus's rocket ship as it took to the sky.

He taught my partner this his whole life, and if pressed, he will admit he also kind of believes it.

It WOULD be kind of cool if Jesus was an alien, in posession of a kick-ass rocket ship. I'd probably be way more interested in religious studies if that were the case.

Yup. The likelihood of being able to verify with her seems nil. I guess we'll always have to wonder...

I wonder how many seats were on that rocket ship? They may have known something everyone else didn't.
