Hi There

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to offer with the following:

Firstly apologies as I speak no Swedish but here goes, we have been looking at property in and around Vasterbotton/Umea area for basically a holiday home that we could perhaps let out to others when we are not using it. We are looking for somewhere that offers fishing, hiking , cycling and snowmobiling basically all the outdoorsy stuff…

We like lakes, trees and rivers to sum it up. I have seen some property for sale that seems to be reasonabley priced but wonder if land is available to purchase, with the view to building a cabin for recreational purposes.

Would really welcome feedback on any of the above things, and also can stand to be corrected if there is anything I have wrong or need to know.

Thanks
Adam

I am looking too. Sometimes they come out but out of my range.

If you can tell how much you want to pay I will post back if something shows up in local paper.

I'm no expert but as others here have helped me I'm happy to pass on the little I know.
The best site to search for all properties is http://www.hemnet.se/. It has an English option for searching although it's not too hard to work out the Swedish and all the property/land details themselves are only in Swedish (although if you have IE8, the new Accelerator tool to Translate a webpage from Swedish to English is pretty good). You can produce a list or view by map (kart).

I like the luxury pinewood two seater netty in the last property.(ekeby).
Can sit and have a friendly chat while doing the business!

Could be a touch drafty in Winter though, with the icy wind blowing up the Khyber Pass... blink.gif

Very sociable ... two can poo with a view!

Actually this place has been on the market awhile, so might be within our OP's stated budget if he makes a low-ball offer.
