Hi,

My husband and I are seriously considering moving to Sweden (Vindeln). We have been liaising with a couple who moved there over a year ago and are so happy.

We are very nature orientated and adventurous. I guess our main concern like with so many is the work situation.

My husband has been a diesel engineer for over 25 years and specialises in power (generators) and plant... but really anything with a diesel engine (including trucks).

We have contemplated with the idea of going solo and advertising his services but he is obviously open to job offers.

I am hoping to take the year out and learn Swedish to a good standard and hopefully start work. I have had many careers, from marketing, to admin to running my own business.

Ideas, experiences or just popping by to say "hej" would be real nice.

Moon

Always good interest in qualified diesel mechanics in the mining industry up North. If you're that way inclined.

There was a guy on this forum who worked here in Luleå for Swedish Steel (SSAB). Not sure if he's still around or not though. My wife deals a lot with the major mining operations in the Kiruna and Malmberget regions. I'll chew her brains and get some contact info. Obviously it's a bit more isolated than the South, but great if you're a nature type peson.
