OK, at least I got some decision today. It is likely positive but will know in few days

Here is the run down

-- Application date:
Nov 30, 2015

-- Was it work permit or extension:
Work Permit Extension (new employer, same occupation, 48 months of previous work visa)

-- Your nationality (optional):
Pakistan

-- Decision received date or none:
July 26, 2016

-- Any comments you would like to add
Around May 23rd I got questions regarding my salary (why it is much more than my first year)

Lets see what the decision says now. I am already planning to apply for citizenship cause it has been 5 years since I first applied (if you applied for work visa from Sweden, your time starts from the day you applied, I have it in written from Migrationsverket if any one thinks it is not true wink.gif.

It was a bit inconvenient to not have documents for last 3 months (and previously 4.5 months) but my over all waiting time for all applications in last 61 months is 25 months (so out of 5 years, MV was processing one application or the other for 2 years). Divide that over 4 applications that is roughly 6 months.

Could you do that please? smile.gif
I applied within Sweden to convert from student visa to work permit, and according to your information that saves me the 6 months I lost while waiting for my work permit.

Yes, I was student as well. This is clearly stated on the page about period of habitual residence (time is counted from the date of application if you are already in Sweden)

I did also get the actual papers though. But it seems that I will have to wait a month more because I had been out for 8 weeks off last year (so that time will not be counted).

The MV changes or updates the estimated times regularly. Good to see that. If the estimated time was X when the application is submitted, and later the estimated time is changed to Y, which one applies to the already submitted application? X or Y ? Anyone has any experiences with that?

The Migration Agency stopped publishing estimates at the beginning of 2016. The data on the web site are not estimates, it is statistical data of past applications.

"The result will show how long it has taken for people with similar applications to get a decision."

Each application is unique, there is no fixed date for resolution. But statistically speaking it can be a reasonable "assumption" that what ever is your condition the applications being granted are probably plus-minus 1 month of the period that MV shows for past applications.
