Just been past a building site, and it looks like boots the chemists will be opening very soon.
All the shelving etc was being put up so its just a matter of time.

Unfortunately the location is absolute pants and I really wonder what dip sh*t chose such a location (lower ground floor - PUB)

Better than being over-priced and totally crap like the current Swedish offerings.

Might even sell headache tablets for 5 kr ...?

But Boots is not what it was, it sold its soul to a private equity firm a few years ago and is now servicing debt while paying taxfree profit to the equity people.

Someday, I am going to find a MAC make up counter in Sweden, instead of the cheap, boring crap I see in so many shops in Sweden.

I loved the slogan:

"Sweden's most exciting pharmacy concept!"

Yeah, I remember from my time in the UK, just how exciting my visits to Boots were...

You mean you found Boots as boring as I did.

How can anyone get excited about a shop in which they will pick up some toiletries, maybe some basic make up or possibly a hair dryer?

A shop in boots was about ten minutes. About half of that was being in the queue to get served.

Nem,
I have seen this brand advertised in the past in Ahlens city (central stockholm).
I have no idea if they still are there, but they have been in the past.

Why do people get so excited about Boots?

I read about it on boards like these and Sweden and went in one in London. It just seemed to be a department store makeup department but with longer lines and chilled beverages. I would much prefer an American drug store or a German Rossmann that actually sells a variety of useful things (including affordable makeup).

It reminds me a bit of the odd hysteria when traveling with East Coast American women in Chicago and Berlin and running into a Dunkin' Donuts. Bad donuts and bad coffee with too much sugar... yay...
