Hi,

I am from India who had come to Gothenburg, Sweden few weeks ago and will be living here for an year or so.
I need to get my lipid profile tested from a medical laboratory or a hospital.

As of now, I know only about Apotek as a pharmacy and few places with name Vardcentral which I got to know as hospital.

How do I get an appointment for taking up this blood test (Lipid profile)? Will it take a long time before I get my appointment as some say here?

Your guidance or thoughts on this is very much welcome.

Thanks in advance!!

Regards,
Sridhar

some info on healthcare in Sweden:

Vårdcentral means a healthcare centre, not a hospital. I suggest you contact the closest vårdcentral and ask for an appointment. Since this is a non-urgent matter it won't be the same day, you might have to wait a while. It is imposible to say how long you will need to wait.

Alternatively, does your employer (assuming you are here working) have any healthcare for employees? It would be called företagshälsovård.

There are kits for testing at home, but it is pretty basic http://www.apotea.se/sj%C3%A4lvtest-kolesterol-1-st
Better to go to vårdcentral or företagshälsovård.
