hello everybody.
i am waiting for Swedish citizenship (for 15 months now) and my passport and permanent residence permit card is at migrationsverket. now i have to travell (by flight) from malmö to stockholm and return for a training orgonised by my employer. my question is do i need my passport and residence card during this domestic flight or is it ok if i have only identity card issued by skatterverket and the decision letter from migrationsverket that i am holding permanent residence in Sweden. i am a non EU citizen. please share your experience.

I applied 10 months ago and I recently requested my passport back. They said they have reviewed the passport and they no longer need it anymore. They also begged me not to send it back and it doesn't affect my place in the queue. Did anyone of you experience something similar to this when you requested for your passport?

Here is the exact wording:

"Vi har granskat ditt hemlandspass. Migrationsverket behöver därmed inte längre passen och vi ber dig därför att inte skicka tillbaka passen till oss. Detta påverkar inte din plats i kön".

Well i do not understand why u guys send the residence permit? MV knows that you have it.
I sent my passport only and they have sent it back after 1 week, saying that they dont need it that much anymore.

as long as i remember they had mentioned it while i applied online that i have to send the residence permit card and passport in origional with your citizenship application. today i read it on MV site that you have to send even the old passport (the expired one) alongside your current passport with application.

When I applied for citizenship, I had to attach not only my current and previous passport, but also the passport I had when I was 2 years old and arrived in Malmö by hovercraft in 1985. I can only assume my childhood passport photo thawed their icy hearts.

Same here, I was asked to send my PUT card along with my application, not sure what does it mean if they ask for it, or if they don't. They did not send it back, until I asked for my passport and PUT card, which was few months after I made my application.

I guess they have changed their policy, since one no longer needs to send Permanent residence card with your application, however old passport is still required. I have called them and asked if I actually had to send the card since I read your comments here, but they answered that there is no need as ofc they can see in their system that the card was issued.
Also they seem to have understood that the person might need to travel while waiting for a decision, and that is also the reason why they send the passport back nearly directly after application...

I have called them and asked if I actually had to send the card since I read your comments here, but they answered that there is no need as ofc they can see in their system that the card was issued.

I applied in June 2016 and had to send my PUT card. At that time, they did not send my passport back, but I requested it because I had to travel.

I am very sure they will ask for it again, as I realized that I applied before I fulfill the required time of residence. So they will have to check again that I met the time requirements.

What fraction of applications fall into the no investigation line? 1-2% or less?

I once had a work permit application (when changing employers) with waiting time of 13 months. After which I got 2 years of work permit starting from the day I applied. In 5 months time I applied for an extension (this was 2013-14) with the same conditions, the application was approved in 1 day.

So it really depends.
