Hi guys,

I'm currently enrolled in a master program at a university in Stockholm. During last year i got sick and the credits were not enough to extend of my residence permit. My application got rejected recently. But I still have 1 course and thesis left during the spring semester until the graduation.

Now I'm facing two choices:

1. Leave the country and submit the application for visa for Schengen countries (short term 90 days), because it feels more than 50% chances the immigration office will not grant me any residence permit for longer period after doing a lot of research online. If I'm going to apply for a 90 days visa, which reason would give me bigger chance to be granted? visiting friend, or study?

2. Appeal. Does anyone have any experience how long the process is going to take? Is it possible to make it until May next year?

Thanks for all your advice!
