Now we have a "spam" button to push!

Great Idea...thanx TheLocal!

Is this a step in the direction of "self moderation"?

When the button is activated...we can unspam?...or what?...can I use it if I don't like a post?

Any way it's a start...who says TheLocal does not listen to us?

Excellent if it works. Well done TL in coming up with a solution which avoided the use of unwanted sneaky players. Transparency rules.

Press it and you get a message on the screen "This function will be activated shortly". So not yet time to celebrate.

Remind us how much you pay to use the site?

Remind us how much money you make from the advertising you get on the basis of the number of people who use the forum.

But that's irrelevant, isn't it Rick.

If you don't like the site, don't read it.

If you don't like the ads, use adblock or, as above, simply don't use the site.

Don't come here, expect to receive services for free, and then complain about it.

Just because you post to the forum, that doesn't give you any entitlement. We don't owe you anything.

Every interactive site on the internet has spam buttons: Gmail, Facebook, you name it.

Now The Local's forum has one. Ten years late to the party, but better late than never.

Agree with the last post. The local has provided a really good service, especially for those that have moved or are planning to come to Sweden. There are equivalent sites, but not so professionally set up as this site imho.

No site is perfect and this site has annoyed me some times with some technical issues, but it's free...because advertisers cover the costs and ultimately, most organisations exist to make money...not lose it unless they have a rich benefactor. For me, the local has been a good source of information, especially the forums. All forums attract spammers etc, but that's life.

I'm sure if you want to influence the content and how the site works etc, you could always contact the local and offer to make a large investment or even buy it smile.gif
