Hi everyone,

I wanted to create this little place to get to know more people and also see how the application process is going for others.
I've applied to 4 schools - Karolinska, Gothenburg, Lund and Stockholm University.
Programs that I've applied to in order at each respective school - Masters in Public Health, Psychological Science, Masters in Psychology and Masters in Political Science.

I've unfortunately received unqualified status on all 4 applications. The reason I got was I don't meet the general requirements of 180 ECTS. I completed a 4 year Bachelor degree in the US. So I should easily meet that requirement as 3 1/2 years of a Bachelor degree already meets the requirement. I emailed University Admissions to get a clarification and I received a pretty generic answer saying that my status could still change and they can't do or say anything until the notification of selections come out in April...
I just emailed Gothenburg's admission office to see if they can help me out or give me clarification as to why I don't meet the general requirements.
Is anyone else facing a similar issue with one or more schools listed as unqualified? I would love to hear what you did or what you are currently doing.

I had the exact same problem as you. University Admissions said to go to each uni individually. We went to University of Gothenburg first, where a student counsellor gave us this link:

https://medarbetarportalen.gu.se/utbildning...nguageId=100001

If you scroll down you see admissions have walk-in sessions every week where you can meet an officer and show your qualifications. They'll tell you what to do next. It's best done in person.

As for me I got a place somewhere else before I got to meet the admissions officer so that's all I know. Good luck!

Hey Maria,

Thank you for the information! I don't live in Sweden so I wouldn't be able to physically visit them. However, I did send emails to each school because University Admissions told me to just wait until the notifications came out. I wasn't going to do that because I knew I'd regret it if I didn't do anything. KI and Gothenburg (in that order) both responded and helped me out. I'm 16th on the waiting list at KI and I've been admitted to Gothenburg! They re-accessed my application and I guess they just took a better look at it this time.
