I've heard news reports that a six month period will be required to develop
an effective vaccine for the current swine flu. In the interim, sanitation
and personal cleanliness is paramount. There are general health tonics
that may be helpful. i.e.

o acidophilus to introduce good bacteria into the gastrointestinal tract
o antioxidants (Vit. A, C E and Selenium in recommended dose)
o food antioxidants like curcummin, oregano and tumeric)
o sanitizing work areas, phones, doorknobs etc. I utilize hydrogen peroxide and alcohol combos.
White vinegar may be another good cleanser.

If there is a question about the food, I would avoid pork and possibly poultry in particular.
Check with your local health department on the dietary precautions pertinent to your
geographic area.

Stay updated at WHO´s homepage, or the swedish one : www.smittskyddsinstitutet.se

There´s no food restrictions, this flu can´t get transfered through food. This is a person to person trasnsfered flu, and you need to be in direct contact or very close to someone who has it to get contaminated. Keep up with a good hygiene, wash your hands often, and stay away from big crowds, and stay updated, and you´ll be fine.

Other tips have come forth from the media. i.e.

Sneeze downward into your elbow area or arm and stay home
if you have or are developing the classic symptoms like
fever, vomiting etc. Of course, seek medical treatment
right away. The advisories are not counseling to stockpile
Tamiflu because a run on the drug might result in depriving
truly infected people from receiving medication on a timely
basis.

Maybe we will get lucky, this will go pandemic, and take care of the over population that the world is suffering from.

Overpopulation is the reason we have problems with geneticaly modified foods and transfats. C'mon pandemic!!!!!!

I don't think anyone wants a pandemic in the world community.
We need to concentrate on the health of the world economy
and not the likes of an intractable outbreak of illness.

I'm hoping for a pandemic too. Just not near me. A reduction of half the population of England would be good. Then houses prices would drop and we could go home.

Amen to that!

AFter what I have put up with the past week here in lagom, vi brukar inte göra det här och så är det Sweden - I can't book my ticket fast enough!!

Seriously tired of the attitude to everything here. If you want to get ahead and make a life for yourself and your family thats fine - as long as you don't think you are better or more deserving than anyone else and that you don't earn more/have more/achieve more than anyone else in the country.

AAaaargggh!
