The Local _ Jobs _ Salary payment schedule

Posted by: irlandsk_tjej 17.Apr.2018, 11:13 AM

Hi,

My partner started a new job in Malmö at the start of this month. The company pays on the 25th of the month and have said they will not get paid until the 25th of May. So nearly 8 weeks before the first salary.

Is this usual for Swedish companies?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, it is normal.

Meaning, they pay you late in the current month for the work you did the month before.

The plus side is that when you leave the job, you effectively get an extra months salary that you had "forgotten about".

It works because (except when you first have a job) there is continuity.
