The Local _ Telecoms _ Swedish incoming telephone number

Posted by: 1712x 5.Sep.2010, 09:43 PM

Is there any VoIP provider that offers public Swedish phone numbers without paying a monthly subscription?
So far the cheapest subscription i could find comes from http://www.localphone.com/incoming_numbers/sweden%20 and lands at 0.88 EUR/month. However my interest is just in a prepaid service.

Not a direct help to you, but I get a free Irish dial in number with my prepaid VoIP account with the Irish provider Blueface I just had to buy €5 of credit and there are no monthly charges.

Surely there is a Swedish VoIP company who provides a similar service?

We have a dial in UK number that redirects to a Swedish number with Skype. Not sure how it works the other way.

Yes Gordy , i'm looking for exactly the same solution here in Sweden...i hope it exists as most (if not all) of the developed or less developed European countries offer this prepaid service.

I would like to pay as i go instead of paying a monthly prescription (Skype for instance). Taking into account my needs, Skype is way too expensive compared to localphone.com

Try http://www.phonzo.se, it's not clear from their website but I think they will give you a free DID number with a pre-paid account.

Let us know how you get on.

In the end i decided to go with http://www.phonzo.se/ as I could not find any other similar prepaid service. I signed up on Saturday and got the logging information by ordinary mail on Wednesday. I must say I found a bit strange that i didn't receive an automated email as soon as my payment went through. Then i was surprised to see that the letter containing the logging information was sent from Oslo. Anyway, the service works fine so far; I'm a bit dissatisfied by the presence of the connection fee, but it seems that this 'new trend' is infiltrating into VOIP rapidly. Last but not least, the dial-in number is not free, you still have to pay a onetime fee of 49 kr.

Yes, but you will need an ATA like http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Linksys-PAP2-NA-VOIP-SIP-ATA-Phone-Adapter-pap2-/220665395722?pt=UK_Computing_Networking_SM&hash=item3360aeba0a#ht_4855wt_1137

Once you have your DID number many VoIP services allow you to forward it to your account with them, so now that you have the number you could for example still use http://www.voipcheap.com/en/faq.html#9 for your outgoing calls.
