Does anyone know: is it possible to apply and include a note asking for the immediate return of the passport? Or applying and asking for the passport back literally a week later? (I know it takes them 3 weeks to return).

Would you imagine this affecting the processing time? Thing is I intend to apply soon but will travel abroad about a week after applying (and I would rather not wait to apply).

Thanks for any information

Arrived Sweden: 27 Feb 2014 with work permit
Applied for citizenship: 28 Feb 2019
Received positive decision: 20 May 2019
Nationality: Australian

My Employer contracts a relocation agency who did most of the paperwork for the work permits. I had been out of the country for more than 6 weeks in a year (most years actually) but never more than 6 weeks as a time.

first of all congratulation for getting your citizenship!
Just I have a quick question about 6 weeks rule, have you mentioned it in your application that you have been out of Sweden for more than 6 weeks/year or not?

Has anyone got rejected when requested to conclude their citizenship case and appealed to the court with any promising outcome?

Cheers

Hi guys!

I've been living in Sweden, together with my sambo, for almost 5 years now. I have a sambo visa with permanent residency which would mean that I could apply for citizenship.

The problem is that ~3.5 years ago we were forced to move away from our place so we temporarily received socialbidrag as a way to pay for our bills and cover the new rent, this however only lasted for couple of months. For the past 3 years we have provided for ourselves but I noticed that in the proof of residency section when applying for a citizenship it says

"a certificate which shows that nobody in your family has received maintenance support over the last five years."

Does this mean that even though we have been doing fine for the past 3 years I would still need to wait 2 years more to apply? Or would they only consider the past 3 years and ignore the rest as I am applying with a sambo visa?
