For his amazing service to the nation

Sweden is so lucky to have Tegnell heading the Corona Virus response. We are one of the few countries to allow an epidemiologist having full control in leading our response to the Corona virus pandemic.

His decisions have been totally scientific & pragmatic, without giving in to silly & mushy panic & populism and has been extremely humble & open in taking questions & criticism from media & his peers.

If Sweden has some award to be given to its greatest citizens, Tegnell surely deserves it when this Corona battle is over.

Lets give him a big round of applause!

If the OP was of English origin (like myself) I would suspect that the post is dripping in scarcasm judging by some of the views of Tegnell on this forum...Tegnell is like Marmaite people seem to love him or hate him.

I've posted this in another thread but think it might be useful here too...

The 1957/58 Asian flu pandemic killed, worldwide, 1.1 million people, in America it killed 116,000...

The world governments took no action as we are doing now...

It seems what we are doing has minimal effect and the(a)virus will run its course as it did then...

Is he right??? Is anybody right???

On TV last night there was a news program that featured some guy(?) who was in the "know" about Sweden...

The gist of his thoughts is that Sweden has positioned itself to a quick economic recovery due to its current policies...

"Bean counters" are now ruling this phase of the tragedy, and I am hearing the same here(NYC) for America...

Economy 101...anybody???

I haven't been watching the political situation in Sweden from the beginning, but so far he is the most discreet politician in Europe. Obviously he knows that in absolute numbers this virus is not worse than a regular flu epidemic as statistics of EUROMOMO.eu proove this and that there is no real danger for the majority of the general public from this virus.

Instead, there is extreme danger coming from politicians all over the world who take away basic liberties from their people. All under the excuse that social distancing would be the only way to stop the spread of the virus. Ridiculous... For years the seasonal flu could spread until it most people built immunity and then it flattened itself.

In folks rush to hang Tegnell you may wish to look up Johan Giesecke, the guy who hired him. He's pretty much the advisor of advisors globally on these kind of pandemics.

It is, isn't it. I have to confess that I stole it from someone on Flashback, just at the time when I was thinking it would have been useful to have kept all his quotations myself.

It isn't really a question of hanging the guy, but if I had been wrong so many times when I was supposed to be the primary source on matters of such importance, I might be questioning whether I was the correct person to be doing the job.

Why is he wrong... Italy and Spain have been locked down for how long? If lock down worked they wouldn't still be seeing 400,500, 600 deaths per day.. as they have far exceeded the 3-4 week lead in time that lock down would need to halt the virus.

Lockdown may slow the spread, but it's not stopping it and the same people who would have died, will still die, as there is no vaccine of proven medication.

Folk are arguing over a different path to the same end result. Only one path bankrupts a nation on the way.

Over here a lot people are in open defiance of the "lockdown" and other measures to curb this thing, Governors are actually facing lawsuits...

Other Governors are opening things up...

I'm thinking the people will go back to normal and ignore the rules...

Revolution...Anyone???
