Hi All

We are moving to Stockholm from London and are wondering if anyone can recommend any moving company that will pick up our furniture etc from our place in London and deliver it to our apartment in Stockholm.

Cheers
Tama

Hi we used these guys, they were very fast and cheaper than the others and recomended to us by a friend. They were nice guys and I found their service team very helpful and friemdly. They are a Swedish company, but as the stuff is being moved from the UK you should be charged UK VAT, you might need to remind them.

before you make a firm decision i would recommend checking these guys out- www.fnworldwied.com

we used them for a relocation from uk to nz and i know they work internationally.

There is a quote calc on the website so you can get an idea of costs involved.
they were great with us, and made the whole process much easier to negotiate.

Good luck !

Another vote for ICM Kungsholmen - I've used them several times- twice as outbound agents and three times coming in - they are tops! In the interests of full disclosure, I didn't pay for the moves so not sure about the cost, only the great service.

Can't find the name of the company I used 7 years ago ... but get a number of quotes ... the difference in price between companies was huge ...

some quote for your job as a one off ... some specialise in Scandinavia and consolidate your stuff with the furniture of say 1 to 3 other UK-Sweden movers in a huge lorry ... these companies also get to fill the lorry on the way back too

need to book a ways in advance and be a little flexible on arrival date ... but you save a packet!!

Good luck!

I'm going to be doing this pretty soon and does it sound mental that I'm thinking of using someone like Parcel2Go.com? Check it out here...

So about £33 a box. That's the price for a single box. 50x50x50 and 20kg. So, I would say worst case weight for a box that size. I maybe have 20 of these, 2 bikes and a snowboard. Door to door though packing and unpacking would be left to me (which I don't mind). I can't find anything cheaper than £1250 when using a company.

Best thing I can see about this method is that I can leave some with my parents (winter clothes etc) and get them collected later on in the year so as to spread the cost across a few pay days and not spank the visa too much smile.gif

One of the things that complicated it for me (and increased the price) was that I would be moving the stuff from Yorkshire and not from London. Limits the choice a bit.
