there is shortage of government regulated renting places, which are at the cheap price, so everybody wants that. If one is prepared to pay market price there is plently of choice I believe.
moderators should adjust name of the thread, othervice some people after reading it will think that there is no rental places at all. |

I concur. I just immigrated to Sweden. I came to Sweden on a house hunting trip before moving to Sweden. 2 weeks early in fact; and I was in an apartment when I made My move. During my trip I saw well over 10 apartments that were 3-bedroom (4-5 room) even though this is a hard thing to find kn Stockholm. One was even a free standing house in the city for rent - all of them were market price which is high but not high in comparison to US cities of the same size. Market price is not very affordable for a single income earner; but it is not also out of reach: Choose the right location (if you want city center then pay for it, otherwise move further out - transportation is fine). |

I told you before this is a discussion forum and not a complaining forum, how shut up and go away.. P.S. Learn to write in English. Pepito has mental problems. This is why he/she cannot find an apartment. No one in their right mind would rent to a crazy person. Sweden has a housing problem - why is this a thread worth discussing? Don't we all know that? Dumbest thread ever posted. Ignore the posts like everyone does. They are all a joke. Don't waste your time. |

Housing market in Sweden was never designed for rentals, especially as the population size has more than doubled, the government were not pro-active enough to build more rental homes, that is why you have all the issues you see today, having said this, in Hemnet, there are thousands of homes available for sale and if you have a loan and can afford the repayments, you will get a new place in less than 2 months! i know i did!

These kind of answers only come from sweden. And while 1 million people wait in a queue to find rental in the "best country on earth", someone like you says, move along nothing to see. You are the only one acting like a crazy person. Someone like you must have your soul rotten to make such comments. I guess you are showing off your true soul. |

Corruption and dishonesty. The rental market in sweden is a trap and it's done on purpose. Malevolent. |

It is what it is unfortunately and will not change although they are building thousands of new homes, that must be said, some rental and some you have to pay for, in some areas, you have to earn at least 60K monthly to even consider being offered 1st hand contracts, some rentals in Stureplan are like this, not race as such but social standing and perhaps class, we all know 60K, less than 5% of the population earn that much monthly so one can only guess what types of people will end up living in such areas, same thing applies to other countries, most western nations, US, you name it, only the rich live in certain areas and the middle class live in what they can afford
London is even worse, the traditional rich Brits have been driven out from central London by new money, Arab, rich Africans, Chinese Sweden, if you cant beat them, join them, just save up and climb up the housing ladder, thats exactly what i did! |

QUOTE There are 30,000 student housing units missing: "The situation is very tough" QUOTE The situation has looked similar in recent years. - The largest housing companies have reduced from four years of queuing time to three and a half years in recent years, but it is still serious. QUOTE Now the autumn term for the students in Uppsala starts. There are about 40,000 students, of whom there are 10,000 homes. That there is a continued housing shortage is a fact. "It's very tough," says Johannes B?ck, chairman of the Uppsala Student Union. QUOTE Johannes B?ck says that the situation looks even worse for the international students.
- For the international students, who are not covered by the university's housing guarantee, it is even worse. Usually they don't know anyone here, they don't know how the housing market works. Some people think that universities have housing for everyone, but they have not. They have to help a lot so that they find accommodation and do not have to move back home. |

The same situation in most of the country. 1 Million people in the queue to find rentals nationwide and counting. Don't let the false reports think it's easy to find rentals in sweden, because no matter the place, rental market in sweden is a trap. QUOTE The housing shortage strikes against companies - gets difficult to recruit QUOTE Companies in Stockholm find it difficult to recruit staff because of the housing situation in the city. Tech company Truecaller believes the housing shortage poses difficulties in almost nine out of ten recruitments. QUOTE He says that there is a dearth of engineers and developers in Sweden, and that Stockholm is losing competition with, for example, Berlin in Germany due to housing shortages. What is available are usually expensive second-hand contracts, he says. QUOTE The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce shares the image that Truecaller gives. In 2015, they conducted a study on the subject, where just over half of the companies stated that the housing shortage was hampering the possibility of recruiting the right staff. QUOTE The situation has hardly improved if one is to believe Daniella Waldfogel, business policy manager.
- Many people want to come here and work, but they are hampered by the fact that it is difficult to get a steady foot in the housing market. The future of people is crushed and it beats the ability of companies to be competitive and to develop the next service or product. |

But, but, but, Mighty Eagle said there is no housing shortage in Meatballia.
Aww gosh darn it, now I'm confused. Who should I believe, the anecdotal Mighty Eagle, or pepito, who can actually back up his assertions? Hmmm, maybe Gamla, after collecting the slobber dripping off your chin, you would perhaps grace us with your "in cognitive decline" presence and weigh in with your vast experience of The Kingdom of the Meatballs? |

Who said there isn't a shortage? Every country has a housing shortage of some description especially when there is a big influx of foreigners. It's easy to see how you are confused because you brain isn't mature enough to understand how society works. |

You do realise that just about every adult in Sweden is on the housing list, if they have any sense? I would expect the figure is more than 1 million. I am on about 20-30 lists myself because you never know when you'll need it. Figures and statistics don't tell the whole story. |

Oh no; your ranting and your "view of reality" does say more about the whole story than poor statistics. Yeah, really... ![]() Living in denial is taken to a whole new level here, throughout this thread, and wherever you post. It is the same thin red line, and it says the same all the time. If the reality is not along the lines of your thesis, then shame on reality... Any person who dares to use his own head and point out anything that is even close to negative is proclaimed from the likes of you and such occurrences as @Svedalla as "having mental problems, and etc. ... The normal question to people like you would be, instead - who the f.c.u.k you think you are, to begin with ? The thread is not yours, and if you dislike it so much, and deny at the same time the official reports made by Swedish national tv, who's agenda are you pushing here, and most of all why? |
